LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Chris Rock surprised the audience by taking a swipe at former President Bill Clinton and slamming liberals fearing President-elect Donald Trump while delivering the monologue on the December 14 episode of 'Saturday Night Live'.

The comedian was in familiar territory on 'SNL', as he used to be a cast member of the NBC sketch comedy show from 1990 to 1993. He had previously served as a host in 1996, 2014, and 2020.

Chris Rock's politics heavy 'Saturday Night Live' monologue

The November election was one of the subjects of Chris Rock's seven-minute opening monologue, which he began by observing, "There's a lot going on in the news, my God, it's so crazy out there," as per Daily Mail

The 59-year-old noted that it had been a "bad year for my people, Blacks," referring to Vice President Kamala Harris' defeat in the election, before quipping about Trump.

"Trump had a good year, man. Trump survived an assassination attempt. Won the presidency again by winning the popular vote. Was just named 'Time' Man of the Year. You know? It could happen to a nicer guy," Rock joked.

The comedian claimed Trump's victory was not shocking, as he jibed, "A lot of people are scared. Like, 'Oh, my God, he's going to be so undignified.' When I say a lot of people, I'm talking about the nine New Yorkers that didn't vote for him, okay?"

He went on to suggest the MAGA spearhead was in no way the only controversial character to occupy the Oval Office.

"Come on, man, this is not the most dignified job in the world. We've had presidents show up to the inauguration with pregnant slaves, okay? And I'm just talking about Bill Clinton," Rock said, possibly referring to the scandal surrounding Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky.

At one point, the 'Grown Ups' star also took a shot at outgoing President Joe Biden for offering a sweeping pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, saying, "I gotta hand it to Joe, he don't move as fast as he used to, he don't talk as fast as he used to, but that middle finger still works."
