NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ginger Zee won over netizens with her swift takedown of an online troll on X, formerly Twitter, on January 5. The 42-year-old 'Good Morning America' star had to take to the social media platform on this occasion to defend her keen sense of fashion, reported The US Sun.

The issue began with the day's broadcast, as Zee went on the show to update viewers on snow and ice alerts. She wore a pink dress on camera, accessorized with a beige belt.

An X user claimed in a post that the chief meteorologist of ABC News was showing off her bare, flat midriff, not recognizing that it was, in fact, a belt.

"@Ginger_Zee why are you showing your stomach on TV. Come on. Show some class. Be a role model. Wear clothing appropriately for the show. For God's sake it's January," the person ranted angrily.

Later that day, Zee also called out the user through a post on her X account, writing, "Hi Larry, that was a belt, not my midriff. It is snakeskin …"

Her patience and kindness to the troll despite their rudeness won over her fans' heart.

A second fan wrote, "Ginger is the classiest lady on TV. It's a belt, and you can even see her gear attached on the belt in the back."

"Ginger you have class…each and everyday!! Keep up the good work and know you are a GREAT ROLE MODEL!!!" commented a third, countering the comments made by the troll.

"Ginger is absolutely fabulous & the real deal! That is unbelievable to be so rude to this wonderful human being. That is just sick really," said another fan of hers, adding, "Ginger, walk tall beautiful soul, remember the haters are angry enraged unhappy peeps, they aim to destroy someone’s joy, but NOT yours!" expressed another.
