WASHINGTON, DC: CNN’s 'Table for Five' heated up this weekend when a pro-MAGA money man and an anti-MAGA media figure clashed over President Trump's controversial d**g boat strikes.

It began with a new accusation that the media and Democrats are suffering from something even more unusual than “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

According to Hal Lambert, CEO of Point Bridge Capital, the press corps has “Hegseth Derangement Syndrome,” referring to negative coverage of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Lambert claimed that recent media criticism of military strikes on suspected Latin American d**g boats proved that the mainstream press “hates” Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, who has labeled the targets “narco-t******sts.”

According to Lambert, President Trump's administration has carried out more than 20 such strikes since early September. But he argued that the real issue was hypocrisy.

High on the agenda for the allies will be ascertaining how the U.S. intends to influence the trajectory of the war in Ukraine, as the conflict nears the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion. “Look, we’re taking out d**g boats, right? They’ve done, I think they’ve killed 87 people doing this,” Lambert said. “Obama did hundreds, if not thousands of bomb attacks all around the world in different countries on land, killing civilians at the time. Now, again, he was going after t****rists, which is what we’re doing there. It’s Tren de Aragua is who we’re going after.”

CNN host Abby Phillip asked, “Is it?” “Yes, those are the Venezuelan gangs,” Lambert replied. She pressed again, “Are you sure about that?” Lambert insisted he was.

Adam Mockler challenges Hal Lambert over Trump’s boat strike policy

Before long, Adam Mockler of the anti-Trump MeidasTouch Network pushed back against Lambert’s "Hegseth Derangement Syndrome" argument.

“First of all, it’s not Hegseth Derangement Syndrome to say that a former Fox News host shouldn’t be leading the most powerful military in the world,” Mockler said. “Secondly, Obama had an authorized use of military force over a lot of these post-9/11 airspaces. He could do these strikes in Pakistan.”

“But thirdly, finally, the Coast Guard has admitted they interdicted 212 boats since 2024 with no violence, nothing happening. And basically, 1 in 4 of those boats, 25% of those boats had no d**gs on them. So I want to ask you, would you be okay striking boats if there is a 1 in 4 chance that there’s no d**gs on the boat?”

Lambert tried to restart the conversation with, “60,000 Americans dying” but Mockler wouldn’t let him finish. “Do you want to answer my question?” he snapped.

Lambert doubled down: “No, I’m going to give you some facts.” Mockler insisted, “No, you should answer my question.”

Fact dispute erupts over boat data and Trump admin actions

Lambert pressed ahead, arguing that “5,000 Americans are dying a month” from d**g-related causes, while the media is supposedly obsessing over “87 d**g dealers being killed.” He then asked Mockler, “Why are you upset about it?”

Mockler snapped back, “I’m not upset. I’m upset that Donald Trump claims to care about d**gs, yet he pardoned the former Honduran president.”

He then returned to his original question about whether Lambert would be okay with an airstrike if there’s a 25% chance a boat has no d**gs.

“You’re not the host, I don’t have to answer to you, but go ahead,” Lambert said, before rejecting Mockler’s statistics entirely. “We don’t have the Coast Guard off the coast of Venezuela,” he declared, arguing that the 25% figure “is likely not accurate.”
