FORT WORTH, TEXAS: Comedian Alex Strenger heckled Nancy Pelosi by calling her "the greatest options trader of all time" during a book signing event at the Texas Tribune Festival in Fort Worth, Texas on Saturday, September 7.

The video of the conservative comedian, who posed as a Democrat, jeering the former House speaker while she was busy signing copies of her new book 'The Art of Power' quickly went viral, as per the New York Post.

Conservative comedian Alex Strenger asks Nancy Pelosi for trading tips

Alex Strenger approached Nancy Pelosi and introduced himself as "Noah". He said, "I’m a UTA candidate. I was listening. I wasn’t able to get a book, sold out, but I want to say how much I appreciate your, like, fierce, staunch defending of democracy. It really means so, so much, you know."

The comedian added, "And honestly, with all the disinformation on X, like, you know, I honestly, the only chance, like, that we have is for Donald Trump to spend the rest of his life in prison."

Strenger stressed that putting Donald Trump behind bars was "the only hope for democracy", and added, "We just have to win the election."

Pelosi replied, "We do," following which Strenger asked, "What stocks should I buy?" He added, "Nancy, you’re the greatest options trader of all time. I just want to know what stocks I should buy. What I just want to know, like, what’s your biggest concern?"

After he made the statement, the former House speaker's security detail stepped in to escort him away. At this moment, the comedian was heard saying, "The police are an instrumental institution of white supremacy and racism. I don’t understand why they are even here at all. They should be defunded."

He added that the Speaker Emerita "makes six figures a year in Congress and has a hundred million dollar net worth. Don’t y’all want to know what stocks she should buy? Come on. I just want to know."

While being escorted away, Strenger remarked, "I just want to know what stocks to buy. I want to close the wealth gap. What’s the problem? I just want to close the wealth gap."

Nancy and Paul Pelosi's trading portfolio has raised eyebrows

Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi, is the founder of a San Francisco–based real estate and venture capitalist firm, Financial Leasing Services, Inc.

His stock trading activity has raised concerns because of his wife’s position as one of the most powerful legislators in the country, as per the New York Post.

Paul used call options in June 2021 in Microsoft just when the company was to be awarded a lucrative defense contract from the US government.

Similarly, in 2022, Paul bought shares of AI chipmaker Nvidia just when Congress was set to vote on the CHIPS Act, which gave significant government subsidies to the semiconductor industry.

Moreover, Nancy's stock portfolio includes shares in blue-chip tech companies such as Apple, Amazon, Meta, Tesla, and Alphabet. As per an analysis by Unusual Whales, her portfolio gained more than 65 percent in 2023.

Nancy had initially opposed proposals that lawmakers and their spouses be banned from trading stocks, insisting that her husband makes stock trades independently.

There's no proof that the California congresswoman engaged in illegal insider trading when purchasing and selling stocks.

Internet divided as comedian heckles Nancy Pelosi over trading activities

Netizens had mixed reactions over Alex Strenger heckling Nancy Pelosi at her book signing event.

One wrote, "Pelosi really is far more successful than Warren Buffett at picking stocks! It’s almost like she can see the future!" while another added, "If anyone would know, its her. What's the issue?"

A person expressed, "This seems kind of mean and deceptive. I don't like insider trading, but I don't like this approach of protesting it either," whereas someone else mentioned, "It’s a legit question. What are the best stocks to invest in Nancy? Send out some tips."

"This is legend quality trolling," remarked an individual.
