LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the midst of Stormy Daniels' ongoing testimony in Donald Trump's criminal fraud trial, his loyalists continue to rally around him. Among them is Ted Cruz, who, in Seth Meyers' view, offered what could be considered a veiled compliment.

On Thursday night's episode of 'Late Night,' during his 'A Closer Look' segment, Meyers highlighted Trump's penchant for employing backhanded compliments, particularly in reference to Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Meyers unveils Trump's 'backhanded compliment' to Marjorie Taylor Greene

Meyers presented a clip of Trump praising Greene as "a brilliant woman" but remarking that she "doesn’t get credit for it."

However, Meyers shifted focus to the Republican reaction to Daniels' testimony, with Cruz's comments drawing particular attention.

Cruz stated on Fox News, "Listen, there is no person on planet Earth that believes Donald Trump has been celibate all his life. That is not news."

Meyers couldn't contain his amusement at Cruz's choice of words, noting the similarity to Trump's style of praise.

“It’s not news that Trump isn’t celibate, but again, Trump is getting the same backhanded compliment!” Meyers said delightedly, before putting on his Ted Cruz voice.

“‘This trial is ridiculous, I mean really. Does it surprise anyone that Donald Trump is a dirty dog?’”

Meyers, with evident delight, continued in Cruz's mock voice: “‘The man is a sex-crazed maniac. I once saw him hump a flag in broad daylight.’”

Online commentary erupts over Trump's embarrassment and Marjorie Taylor Greene's 'brilliance'

Amidst the online discourse surrounding Trump's ongoing embarrassments and Marjorie Taylor Greene's perceived brilliance, social media users have not held back in expressing their opinions.

One user said, "No amount of embarrassment Trump endures will ever make up for the way he's embarrassed America."

Another added, "No one "dragged him through the gutter." He jumped in with both feet all on his own."

One user replied, "May I suggest that we all collectively start sending letters to mar-a-lago addressed to "Orange Turd" lol?"

One said, "So Ted Cruz thinks that "celibate" means "faithful to your wedded partner". And here I thought my opinion of his character couldn't sink any more."

Another said, "The way Seth screamed Trump impression of saying Marjorie Taylor Green's name literally had me dying that was too perfect."

One user commented,"They need to drop that "gentlewoman/gentleman" title and go with Member or Rep/Representative. They also should get rid of the "Honorable," too many are not at all honorable. I heard the republican press conference on the radio. trump thinks Marge is "brilliant."?"
