DENVER, COLORADO: Dave Williams was defeated by conservative commentator and activist Jeff Crank in the Republican primary for the 5th Congressional District on Tuesday, June 25th.

Dave Williams sent inappropriate email against the LGBTQ+ community

Williams' defeat came weeks after he sparked controversy by sending out a mass email in which he referred to LGBTQ+ people as "godless groomers."

He wrote in the email, “The month of June has arrived and, once again, the godless groomers in our society want to attack what is decent, holy, and righteous so they can ultimately harm our children,” as reported by the HuffPost.

Besides, a GIF shared by the official Colorado Republican Party account read, “Burn all the #pride flags this June.”

Valdamar Archuleta, a Colorado Republican, soon called for Williams to resign or be removed, stating, "Dave Williams should resign... or be removed."

“He’s done so many destructive things in Colorado to not promote unity and [done] things that are outside the boundary and the scope of his role and responsibility as the state party chair,” Richard Holtorf, Colorado’s House minority whip, added.

Dave Williams doubled down on his hate statement

But the 37-year-old politician stood firm, stating, “We make no apologies for saying God hates pride or pride flags as it’s an agenda that harms children and undermines parental authority, and the only backlash we see is coming from radical Democrats, the fake news media, and weak Republicans who bow down at the feet of leftist cancel culture.”
