BRADDOCK, PENNSYLVANIA: Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania congratulated President Donald Trump through his official X profile on Wednesday, October 8, for the “historic peace plan” between Israel and Hamas.

He also highlighted how he and Trump have a “shared ironclad commitment to Israel.”

The new development comes after the president announced on Truth Social that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of his peace plan

Trump announced on Truth Social that since Israel and Hamas have agreed to move forward with the first part of the Peace Plan so "ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon."

He also added, "Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!"

The president further wrote, "This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen."

Trump had been working toward the peace deal

Trump’s post about the peace deal came after he announced on Saturday that Israel had agreed to a proposed withdrawal line and once Hamas agreed, a ceasefire would "be IMMEDIATELY effective."

"After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas," Trump said at the time.

He also added, "The Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE."

In an interview with Fox News, Trump spoke about what will happen next.

Trump said, "The hostages are going to be released, probably our time, which is probably Monday. They [the hostages] are in a terrible situation there. They are deep, deep in the earth.... As we speak, so much is happening to get the hostages freed.”

He also added, "We think they will all be coming back on Monday… and that will include the bodies of the dead."
