WASHINGTON, DC: The internet is trolling Joe Biden’s campaign strategy as the President decided to host a major fundraiser in Los Angeles next month with former President Barack Obama and Hollywood superstars George Clooney and Julia Roberts, according to a campaign official, as reported by CNN

A Biden campaign official told CNN that the event will seek to expand Biden’s cash advantage against former President Donald Trump.

Joe Biden ropes in A-listers for mega fundraiser

Biden's campaign plans to run a contest for supporters that features Clooney and Roberts, who have appeared in several movies together since the 2001 heist caper 'Ocean’s Eleven'.

NBC News reported that the movie actors will also make appearances in digital advertisements and social media posts endorsing Biden's campaign. On the other hand, Obama has already taken part in one Biden fundraiser: the $26 million mega-event held in March at Radio City Music Hall in New York, which he co-hosted with former President Bill Clinton. Obama is anticipated to intensify his campaign as the election draws near.

According to a source with knowledge, as per CNN, during the president's recent West Coast visit, the Biden campaign raised $10 million in a single day. This information was released along with news of the celebrity-filled fundraiser. Biden took part in two fundraising events held in the Seattle region and two in the Bay Area.

The numbers for Biden's previous month will be made public in the upcoming week. This had been one of the president's undeniable advantages over Trump in terms of finances. Unlike the GOP field's battle for donors, the Democratic primary was mostly uncontested, which gave Biden the opportunity to establish support early on from Democratic contributors.

The last filings available, for March, showed Biden with nearly twice the amount of cash in his coffers than Trump. Biden’s campaign has used the money on television ads, staffing in battleground states and travel.

Internet trolls Joe Biden for his campaign plans

Several social media users weighed in on Biden choosing celebrities for his campaign. A YouTuber wrote, "The desperation is pathetic."

Another user said, "It will not help. Biden is done." While one user wrote, "Loser behavior," another said, "None of these people are even relevant."

A user wrote, "It’s like flushing money down the toilet." One user said, "Don't think it's going to help Joey out he's sinking fast."

The next user said, "Biden is a disaster I made the mistake of voting for him in 2020 and I regret it Inflation has really destroyed me. I will never again vote for this guy tonight I will vote Republican or I will abstain."

A user wrote, "He thinks those A listers are equivalent to 100mil votes. LOL."
