WASHINGTON, DC: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted on X (formerly Twitter) to emphasize that no unauthorized individuals would be allowed to attend President Trump’s State of the Union (SOTU)  address at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 24.

In its post, DHS stated, "We are not the same," drawing a contrast between Republicans and Democrats. The department criticized Democrats, saying that "once again", they prioritized illegal immigrants "above the safety of American citizens."

During his address, President Trump discussed immigration and border security, claiming there was "zero border outrage" under his administration.

DHS warns Democrats over 'illegal aliens'

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared several posts on X on Tuesday, February 24, ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address. One post stated, "We are not the same. While Republicans are bringing victims of crimes committed by illegal criminal aliens to the State of the Union, some Democrats in Congress are planning to bring ILLEGAL ALIENS."

"Democrats are once again prioritizing illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens. Here are some of the illegal aliens Congressional Democrats are planning to bring," they concluded.

Meanwhile, President Trump addressed election security during his speech, clarifying that all voters must show valid identification in upcoming elections. He emphasized that a proper ID should be presented to verify citizenship.

Democrats’ SOTU guests flagged by DHS

Several Democratic lawmakers had planned to bring State of the Union guests who drew scrutiny from the Department of Homeland Security. These included suspected illegal immigrants, DREAMers, and individuals previously arrested for allegedly obstructing federal immigration enforcement.

A Fox News correspondent obtained the list after contacting the agency about a tweet posted earlier Tuesday, which said some Democrats were "planning to bring illegal aliens as guests to the State of the Union."

In the tweet, the agency stated: "Once again, they are putting illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens. Yesterday alone our officers arrested p*********s, r*****s, and violent criminals from our communities. President Trump and Secretary Noem have made it abundantly clear: if you come to our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and you will never return."
