Diddy’s head injury cause revealed after being rushed to hospital from prison
TRENTON, NEW JERSEY: The cause of Sean 'Diddy' Combs’ head injury, which reportedly led to his hospitalization, has been revealed. The rapper allegedly hit his head on the bunk above him while incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
A source told Page Six that Combs was doing much better following the incident, which comes amid reports of disciplinary violations, lost privileges, and a delayed prison release date.
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison head injury revealed
According to TMZ, Combs was taken from the federal prison to a nearby medical facility following a medical emergency.
A source previously told the outlet that the music mogul was transported by ambulance at around 1 am on Saturday and treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
The 56-year-old was reportedly conscious and speaking following the incident. A representative for the Grammy winner told Page Six, “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.”
The representative added, “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”
Combs was convicted on two federal counts and sentenced to 50 months in prison in July 2025 following highly publicised court proceedings. He has repeatedly and vehemently denied accusations of wrongdoing.
The rapper is serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison located approximately 40 miles outside Philadelphia. Before his sentencing, he had been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
Diddy’s prison violations and delayed release date
The hospitalization follows reports about Combs’ alleged privileges and disciplinary issues behind bars.
In September, NBC News reported that the 'I’ll Be Missing You' hitmaker was enjoying a “pampered” life in prison.
Four anonymous prisoners allegedly claimed that people were cleaning and cooking for him. The outlet also reported that Combs had access to “some rich,” things, including premium liquor, antidepressants, and a cellphone.
“This is not normal you see in jail,” a source said. “It looks crazy, but again, it’s Diddy.”
A Bureau of Prisons representative previously told Page Six that the agency refrains from commenting on inmates’ conditions at the low-security facility for “privacy, safety and security reasons.”
According to TMZ, Combs was sent back to solitary confinement following the reports.
Page Six subsequently confirmed that his release date, previously scheduled for January 21, 2028, had been pushed back to March 2, 2028.
TMZ also reported that Combs had been written up several times for alleged fights and cellphone violations.
Jose Rojas, a union secretary representing Bureau of Prisons employees, told the outlet that officials documented alleged fights on July 31 and September 30, along with another major violation stemming from an altercation on October 1.
