Discord says ‘no evidence found’ Tyler Robinson used platform in Charlie Kirk shooting plan

OREM, UTAH: Authorities are still piecing together how Tyler Robinson allegedly carried out the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
During the press conference on Friday, authorities revealed that Tyler's roommate had shown them messages from Tyler's account connected to Kirk's assassination after his family turned him in.
Discord denies claims in Tyler Robinson case
Discord issued a statement denying its role in Robinson’s alleged actions, even as Utah investigators continue reviewing his digital and personal history.
A Discord spokesperson told TMZ, “In the course of our investigation, we identified a Discord account associated with the suspect, but have found no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord.”

The company added in its statement, “The messages referenced in recent reporting about planning details do not appear to be Discord messages."
They said, "These were communications between the suspect's roommate and a friend after the shooting, where the roommate was recounting the contents of a note the suspect had left elsewhere.”
Discord, however, confirmed that Robinson’s account has since been removed.

Investigators examine messages
Authorities said Robinson’s roommate showed them that he had made “a joke” on Discord, along with messages that included “Tyler” stating a need to retrieve a rifle from a "drop point", leaving the rifle in a bush, and a note referring to leaving the weapon wrapped in a towel.

Investigators also noted Robinson had revealed on the platform about changing his clothes after shooting Charlie Kirk.
Discord, however, maintained that these communications were not on its platform, but instead came from a note written off-site to the roommate.

Commissioner Beau Mason of the Utah Department of Public Safety, as per BBC, said outside the crime scene cordon at Utah Valley University that officials are writing and executing search warrants to “put the puzzle together” regarding Robinson’s movements between the university and his family home in southern Utah.
Tyler Robinson’s family background revealed
Robinson, the oldest of three brothers, grew up in a Mormon household. His father runs a business installing kitchen countertops and cabinets, while his mother is a licensed social worker.
A neighbor told CBS News, “They are very supportive parents who loved their boys and involved in the community.”
The neighbor also noted that Robinson appeared to hold different political views from his parents.

He briefly attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021 and also earned concurrent enrollment credit through Utah Tech University while in high school.
