WASHINGTON, DC: House Judiciary Committee chairman Jim Jordan argued Dr Anthony Fauci provided "false" testimony to Congress regarding the Covid-19 cover-up earlier this week.

In a letter on Friday, June 7, obtained by the New York Post, the lawmaker urged the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director to appear for another interview for supposedly attempting to "unconstitutionally monitor and censor" critics and interfere with the investigations into the pandemic's origins.

Besides accusing Fauci of being involved in pressuring tech giants to censor the lab leak theory while he served in President Joe Biden's Covid-19 Response Team, Jordan pointed out the immunologist also "sidelined" Dr Robert Redfield, then-Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to his "different point of view" about the origins of the virus.

Rep Jim Jordan says Anthony Fauci's testimony on Covid-19 was 'false on its face'

In the letter to Fauci, Jordan wrote, "On June 3, 2024, you [Fauci] testified before the Oversight Committee's Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic (Coronavirus Select Subcommittee) that you have 'kept an open mind' about the lab leak theory and did not play a part in the 'push to downplay the lab leak theory'. This is false on its face."

The emails, acquired by a House subcommittee and media through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, revealed that Fauci and Dr Francis Collins, then-director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), opted not to include Redfield in a conference call with leading virologists to discuss the origins of the novel coronavirus on February 1, 2020.

The paper 'The Proximal Origin of SARS-CoV-2' was published as a result of this meeting. The now-controversial paper discredited the lab leak theory, and Fauci, on April 17, 2020, cited this paper at a White House press conference while responding to questions about the virus coming from a Chinese lab.

Dr Kristian Andersen and Dr Robert Garry, the two scientists who co-authored the paper, testified to the subcommittee that Fauci "prompted" their work after one pointed out the "unusual features" of the Covid-19 that "(potentially) look engineered."

In light of all the latest revelations, Jordan's panel demanded the former NIAID director to provide all communications and documents between him and the executive branch from January 1, 2019, to the present about the suppression of lab leak theory and communications with any technology company, including social media firms.

Internet slams Jim Jordan for accusing Anthony Fauci of making a 'false' testimony

Netizens harshly criticized the Republican lawmaker for accusing Fauci of lying to Congress during the Covid-19 testimony.

One said, "Pat on the back! Get out and do something. Ripping him unless you something to back it up means NOTHING," and another called the latter a "distraction tactic."

"You're gaslighting is pathetic. Can't wait for your day in court," remarked a person, while someone else stated, "Even Steve Bannon thinks Jim Jordan is worthless. Without his medal from Trump, he has zero accomplishments."

"You act like this is proudest accomplishment. Jim Jordon does nothing for Ohio or this country," read another comment.

An individual argued, "If it truly was false, you wouldn't just "rip him". You'd jail him. But you're not, so he must've been telling the truth you just need to save face somehow after all of your failures."

"More like Fauci ripped you to shreds. You sir are an embarrassment to the American people," expressed one more.
