NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a fiery exchange with CNN, Donald Trump Jr pointed the finger at the media for creating an environment of hostility against his father, former President Donald Trump, as per Fox News.

The intense interview, which aired on Tuesday, October 1, saw Trump Jr accusing the media of pushing false narratives, which he believes have contributed to two recent assassination attempts against the former president.

Following the CBS News Vice Presidential Debate, Trump Jr joined CNN’s Kaitlan Collins in the spin room for an interview that quickly turned tense.

The conversation initially started with a reflection on the debate’s tone, which Trump Jr described as "civil."

He noted that the candidates, JD Vance and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, managed to acknowledge their agreements on stage, something he praised.

However, the interview soon shifted when Collins asked if such civility could be expected during future debates involving his father.

Trump Jr responded, "You know what? I’d love to see that across the board. We’ve all heard about Trump Derangement Syndrome, we’ve seen what they’ve lied about … ‘I was an agent of Russia, but Hunter Biden’s laptop was totally Russian disinformation.’ It turns out, the opposite was true."

He further elaborated on his frustrations with the media, stating, "The media did that, they created so much of that environment. The media has radicalized the people that are trying to kill my father. I’ve had to deal with that twice now in the last two months."

Trump Jr emotionally recounted conversations he had to have with his children about the assassination attempts. "I’ve had to have that conversation with my five young children twice in the last two months about someone trying to shoot their grandfather," he said.

The exchange took a sharp turn when Collins pushed back against Trump Jr’s assertions.

"Everyone wants your dad to be safe. Nobody wants the threats against his life to happen, but you can’t blame the media for those threats. There’s been no evidence," Collins asserted, challenging Trump Jr’s claims head-on.

Trump Jr, however, stood firm in his stance. "When someone allows someone to have a platform to call someone ‘literally Hitler,’ every day for nine years, it creates it. Whether you want to believe it or not, that’s a fact," he replied.
