JD Vance sparks meme fest with 'Miley Cyrus eyes' during vice presidential debate against Tim Walz

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: GOP running mate JD Vance was seen with blue eyes during the Vice Presidential debate with Democratic running mate Tim Walz on Tuesday, October 1. His eyes were compared with Miley Cyrus' eyes in social media posts.

The debate, hosted by CBS News, took place just 35 days before the election in November when both the candidates got an opportunity to attack each other.

Even though the two running mates talked about some serious matters, people were more attracted and were hooked on the screen because of Vance's blue eyes which looked different than usual.

Moreover, Elizabeth Panciotti, director at Roosevelt Institute, posted a graphic showing how much Google searches for 'eyeliner' had increased during the debate, per the Daily Mail.

Walz and Vance met for their first and possibly the only vice presidential debate and it could also be the last debate for both campaigns to argue their case before the election, per the outlet.

The debate gave Vance and Walz the chance to introduce themselves, make the case for their running mates, and go on the attack against their respected rivals.

During a part of the debate about immigration and border security, Walz talked about Vance’s false claims about Haitian immigrants eating the pets of residents in Ohio.

Walz pointed out that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine dispatched state troopers to Springfield to ensure the safety of children after a series of bomb threats. He said, "There’s consequences for this" as Vance replied, "The people I care most about in Springfield are the American citizens."

Walz once again put Vance in the limelight during a discussion of the January 6, 2021, insurrection and Donald Trump’s false claims that he won the 2020 election.

Walz asked Vance, "Did he lose the 2020 election?" and Vance replied, "Tim, I’m focused on the future." Walz was not convinced with the answer and said, "That is a damning non-answer."
