WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Robert F Kennedy Jr after he attacked the former president's response to the Covid-19 pandemic during his time in the White House.

In his Truth Social post on Saturday, May 25, Trump wrote, “Don’t waste any Republican or Conservative votes on Junior.’”

Slamming Kennedy Jr's campaign, Trump wrote, “He’s one of the most liberal lunatics ever to run for office. He caused massive high energy pricing in New York and New England. He just admitted that he was actually OK with the vaccine.”

Former President Donald Trump listens as his attorney Todd Blanche speaks during a press conference at 40 Wall Street after a pre-trial hearing on March 25, 2024 in New York City. Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. “A phony politician radical Left fool whose poll numbers are terrible and getting worse. His campaign is falling apart, great dissension!!!” he added.

RFK Jr says fundamental rights 'disappeared' under Donald Trump's administration

Kennedy Jr recently accused Trump of violating people’s First Amendment rights under his administration with its Covid-19 guidelines.

The independent presidential candidate said that initially, he believed Trump had "the right instinct" but he was actually "rolled" by the bureaucrats into implementing vaccine requirements and lockdowns.

During his speech at the Libertarian National Convention, Kennedy Jr said Trump "caved in, and many of our most fundamental rights disappeared practically overnight."

“President Trump allowed his health regulators to mandate science-free social distancing, which undermined our First Amendment rights to freedom of assembly. We could no longer peacefully gather,” he shared.

Donald Trump labels RFK Jr a Democrat 'plant'

Trump recently targeted Kennedy Jr saying that voting for him is a "wasted protest vote."

In a Truth Social post on April 27, the former president wrote, “RFK Jr is a Democrat ‘Plant,’ a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden, the Worst President in the History of the United States, get Re-Elected."

“A Vote for Junior’ would essentially be a wasted protest vote that could swing either way, but would only swing against the Democrats if Republicans knew the true story about him. Junior’ is totally Anti-Gun, an Extreme Environmentalist who makes the Green New Scammers look Conservative, a Big Time Taxer and Open Border Advocate, and Anti-Military/Vet,” he added.

Kennedy Jr, who is undeterred by the 77-year-old politician's attacks, has challenged him to a presidential debate at the Libertarian convention.

“It’s perfect neutral territory for you and me to have a debate where you can defend your record for your wavering supporters,” the environmental lawyer said.

“You yourself have said you’re not afraid to debate me as long as my poll numbers are decent,” he continued.

“Well, they are. In fact, I’m the only presidential candidate in history who has polled ahead of both major party candidates in head-to-head races," Kennedy Jr added.
