LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Donald Trump, no stranger to controversy over his apparent disregard for the well-being of his rally attendees, stoked those claims further on Sunday, June 9.

The former president held a summertime rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, amidst intense heat, with temperatures on the strip forecasted to reach around 103 degrees Fahrenheit.

Donald Trump emphasized importance of votes

The event took place outdoors at Sunset Park, drawing thousands of supporters. During the rally, Trump made light of the heat, telling the crowd that despite his campaign's warnings against attending, an impressive turnout of "only 20,000" had gathered.

However, it was his tongue-in-cheek comment that he was only interested in their votes, not the supporters themselves, that captured attention, according to Independent.

“I don't want anybody going on me. We need every voter. I don't care about you. I just want your vote,” Trump said.

Amidst laughter from his supporters, Trump proceeded to claim that journalists at the rally would misrepresent his statements, telling their audiences that the former president had uttered something "horrible" while on stage.

Even with his characteristic humor, the former president expressed his discomfort with the heat at his rally.“It's 110, but it doesn't feel it to me,” Trump said. “I'm up here sweating like a dog. They don’t think about me. This is hard work.”

Nearly 2 dozen attendees received medical attention and six were hospitalized

The temperature probably didn't reach 110 degrees during Trump's rally on Sunday, although the city experienced similar temperatures just a few days prior.

The former president, nonetheless, delivered his entire speech wearing his signature heavy coat and tie, which may have led to the brief duration of his address—less than an hour.

Following the rally, reports from local media indicated that close to two dozen attendees received onsite medical attention due to heat-related issues, and six were hospitalized.

Climate Power, a strategic communications firm that enhances the Democrats' messaging on climate and environmental issues, criticized the former president in a statement following the rally.

“Donald Trump is openly telling people that he’s only out for himself. He’s making promises to Big Oil executives who are fueling the climate crisis while people are passing out at his rallies from very real, very dangerous heatwaves that he says are caused by a hoax,” argued comms director Alex Glass.

Donald Trump criticized America's immigrant population, labeling them as criminals

During his speech, Trump heavily criticized America's immigrant population, labeling incoming immigrants and asylum-seekers as criminals, mentally unstable, and "not productive" to society.

The likely Republican candidate dismissed his rival's efforts to tackle border security through executive orders as "nonsense," and without providing details, asserted that such actions would lead to a rise in illegal immigration.

In contrast to his recent appearance at the Libertarian Party's national convention in Washington D.C., where he was met with boos, his campaign rally was received more positively.

During his last visit to the capital in late May, he experienced a surprising backlash, with delegates booing him throughout his speech. Recent polls indicate that Trump is ahead of President Joe Biden in Nevada, a state that Biden had won in the previous election.

Internet believes Donald Trump 'doesn't care about anyone'

As soon as the news surfaced the social media, users started reacting to it. A user wrote, "He doesn’t care about anyone, only himself."

Another user added, "He really means exactly that!"

The third commentator questioned, "How is that not a horrible thing?"

"I love how he just tells them they're worthless and they just stand there and clap," one slammed the crowd.
