GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN: Donald Trump made a surprising choice of attire as he swapped his usual suit jacket for a bright orange and yellow visibility vest at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The former president revealed that his aides had encouraged him to keep the vest on, claiming it made him “look thinner.”

Donald Trump explained that the fluorescent vest, which he wore as a mockery of President Joe Biden’s alleged remark calling Trump supporters “garbage,” was initially meant for a pre-rally stunt.

Before arriving at the venue, Trump was seen wearing the vest while climbing into a trash truck as part of the jab at Biden.

However, his team suggested he wear it on stage, assuring him that it would make a strong statement.

“I’m driving over here, and I have this fluorescent jacket still on, and I come into the arena, and I say, ‘Where’s my jacket?’” Trump told supporters, drawing laughter from the crowd.

“I want to get out of this thing. And they said it would be unbelievable if you could wear it on stage,” he added.

The pivotal reason Donald Trump agreed to keep the vest on, however, came down to one surprising factor.

“They said it actually makes you look thinner,” Trump recounted with a laugh, according to The Daily Beast.

“And they got me. I said, ‘I want to wear it on stage.’ When they said I looked thinner, I said, ‘In that case, I’ll wear it on stage. I may never wear a blue jacket again.’”

In response to Biden's "garbage" remarks, Trump said, "Kamala and Joe call all of us, and them, even them, ‘garbage.’ I call you the heart and soul of America. You are the heart and soul, you built our country, you built it."

"And by the way I want to thank all our sanitation workers all across America because they work hard, they really do work hard and they do an incredible job, and they don’t get the credit they deserve," he added.
