PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Donald Trump held a rally at Temple University on Saturday night, June 22, where he swiftly launched into a critique of President Joe Biden's policies on topics ranging from immigration to inflation.

“Less than four years ago, we were a great nation,” Trump declared to a cheering crowd at the Liacouras Center, which is home to Temple's basketball teams in North Philadelphia.

“And we will soon be a great nation again.”

Donald Trump criticizes Biden administration for US-Mexico border crisis

Trump strongly criticized the current administration for the ongoing crisis at the US-Mexico border, marked by a significant increase in illegal crossings, New York Post reports.

He promised to take firm executive action to tackle the issue, proposing a major deportation plan that would provide increased immunity for federal law enforcement agents.

“Under Crooked Joe, the City of Brotherly Love is being ravaged by bloodshed and crime,” Trump said. He attributed the rise in violence and retail theft rates in Philadelphia to illegal immigration, labeling it as "Biden migrant crime".

He went on to say, “We had the safest border in the history of our country. Now we have the unsafest border in the history of the world.”

Trump alternated between calling Biden "Crooked Joe" and the more frequently used "Sleepy Joe," even taking a poll from the audience on their preferred name for Biden.

Despite louder applause for "Sleepy Joe," the former president expressed a preference for "Crooked Joe" and continued to use it throughout the rally.

Donald Trump pledges to tackle America's economic issues

Trump pledged to address America's persistent economic issues, claiming that inflation was "practically nothing" when he left office in January 2021.

“Inflation is a country-buster,” Trump remarked. “On Day 1 of my [new] administration, we will throw out Bidenomics and replace it with MAGAnomincs!”

The ex-president proposed additional ideas, including reassigning the Department of Education's authority to the states, abolishing the tax on tipped income, and building an 'Iron Dome' defense system in America, similar to that of Israel.

His demand to eliminate federal funding for schools enforcing Covid-era mandates or promoting what he termed "transgender insanity" was met with thunderous applause.

Before his speech, a host of Pennsylvania dignitaries took the stage, including GOP Representative Dan Meuser and Senate hopeful Dave McCormick.

McCormick garnered a public endorsement from Trump at the rally.

“We’re going to win up and down the ticket here in Pennsylvania because people want change,” McCormick addressed the crowd. “They want to get rid of Joe Biden, and they want to get rid of Bob Casey, who votes [with him] 98% of the time."

“David McCormick, you have my total support and my total endorsement, and you’ve got to win,” Trump said.

“Dave will defeat your atrocious radical left senator Bob Casey."

"Bob Casey… He doesn’t do anything," he added.

Trump's speech resonated with the rally attendees.

"I feel like our country is being overrun, and the American people are taking a back seat to illegal immigrants,” Phyllis Madigan, who journeyed two hours from Maryland's Eastern Shore, made this statement at the rally.

“I just think Trump sees that. He wants to put the American people first and keep the American people first.”

Another attendee, Joann Palladino from Philadelphia, expressed her desire for Trump to concentrate on the economy and border issues. She also mentioned that Trump's recent conviction for falsifying business records in New York would not influence her vote for him in the slightest.
