Donald Trump Jr gets engaged to GF Bettina Anderson: ‘She said yes!’

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump announced on Monday evening, December 14, that his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr, is engaged to Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, sharing the news during the White House Christmas party in front of guests and supporters.

The surprise announcement, later echoed by the couple themselves, marked a high-profile personal milestone for Don Jr, who proposed after about a year of dating Anderson following the end of his previous engagement.

President Trump revealed the engagement while addressing attendees at the holiday event, calling the couple to the podium and formally announcing their plans to marry.

“They get along very well and they are just announcing through me that they’re getting married,” the POTUS said.

Don Jr followed by confirming the proposal and thanking Anderson publicly. “She said yes!” he said, later adding, “I just want to wish all of you guys an incredible holiday season and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And thank Bettina for that one word, ‘yes.’”

Anderson, 39, attended the event in a red gown with a matching red sequin clutch and expressed gratitude to the president and first lady for hosting the celebration.

“Wow! What a privilege it is to be here in the White House, Mr. President. Thank you so much for hosting this incredible party and to the First Lady,” she said. “This has been the most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!”

Relationship timeline and previous engagements

Don Jr began dating Anderson in 2024 after ending his four-year engagement to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Guilfoyle has since relocated to Athens after being confirmed as the US ambassador to Greece.

Prior to that relationship, Don Jr was married to Vanessa Trump for 13 years. The two divorced in 2018 and share five children together.

Sources familiar with the couple informed Page Six that Don Jr proposed recently and that Anderson has been seen wearing a large diamond engagement ring. A spokesperson for the couple later confirmed the engagement. 

The relationship reportedly began gaining attention last year, with the couple spotted together in Palm Beach, where Anderson, the daughter of philanthropists Harry Loy Anderson Jr and Inger Anderson, is well known in social circles.
