WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump has found himself in hot water after bashing Obamacare and promising to replace the plan with his own “much better” alternative program.

The 77-year-old front-runner for the GOP nomination took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Monday, December 25, to slam Obamacare as “expensive” and “not good healthcare".

“Obamacare is too expensive, and otherwise, not good healthcare,” he wrote, adding “I will come up with a much better, and less expensive, alternative! People will be happy, not sad!”

Although criticizing former President Barack Obama's flagship healthcare bill was previously a common political tactic among Republicans, the law currently has broad support nationwide, with 60% of Americans believing that it is beneficial, according to the Hill.

Republicans have mostly given up on the "repeal and replace" movement after multiple unsuccessful attempts in Congress and several unsuccessful legal challenges.

Trump had criticized the healthcare law last month also.

“I don’t want to terminate Obamacare, I want to REPLACE IT with MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE,” he wrote on Truth Social.

“Getting much better Healthcare than Obamacare for the American people will be a priority of the Trump Administration. It is not a matter of cost, it is a matter of HEALTH,” the former President stated, adding “America will have one of the best Healthcare Plans anywhere in the world. Right now it has one of the WORST!”

Trump accused Joe Biden of 'coming after him'

In a string of all-caps remarks on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed that special counsel Jack Smith and President Joe Biden were "coming after him" and claimed that he was the victim of "election interference".

“THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN, LIED TO CONGRESS, CHEATED ON FISA, RIGGED A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, ALLOWED MILLIONS OF PEOPLE, MANY FROM PRISONS & MENTAL INSTITUTIONS, TO INVADE OUR COUNTRY, SCREWED UP IN AFGHANISTAN, & JOE BIDEN’S MISFITS & THUGS, LIKE DERANGED JACK SMITH, ARE COMING AFTER ME, AT LEVELS OF PERSECUTION NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN OUR COUNTRY???” Trump wrote.

Trump wished a Merry Christmas to "everyone" in a different post, including “Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against ‘TRUMP’ and ‘MAGA'.”

“Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and ‘sick’ as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!” his post continued.

Internet mocks Trump for his remarks

Trump’s bizarre Christmas post has garnered immense social media attention, with users mocking him for bashing Obamacare and promising a 'much better' alternative.

“Working on a health care plan during Christmas. He really cares about us!” one user wrote.

“He has been “working on it” since 2016,” the second user mocked.

“It seems like someone on his team nudged him to go after Obamacare again, or maybe he's got a time-traveling mindset, thinking he's facing off against Obama," the third user trolled.

“Even his supporters know this is a lie, but they won’t admit it,” the fourth user slammed while the fifth one said, “Does anyone still believe this after he promised he'd do it on Day One in office in 2017?”

“He talks like a third-grader. This is one of the reasons that he appeals to his base,” one more attacked.
