PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: President-elect Donald Trump shared a characteristically bold Thanksgiving message in the early hours of Thursday, November 28.

Posted on Truth Social at nearly 1.00 am, the post blended holiday wishes with pointed political commentary, a hallmark of Trump’s holiday communications.

Donald Trump's Thanksgiving message

From Mar-a-Lago, where he is spending Thanksgiving while managing the presidential transition, Donald Trump addressed both supporters and critics.

“Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed,” he wrote on Truth Social.

He claimed the recent “landslide victory” for his Make America Great Again movement as evidence of national support, adding, “Don’t worry, our Country will soon be respected, productive, fair, and strong, and you will be, more than ever before, proud to be an American!”

Donald Trump's history of memorable holiday messages

Donald Trump’s Thanksgiving post is in line with his longstanding tradition of using holidays to deliver messages that mix celebration with sharp political commentary.

In 2012, he famously tweeted, "HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone--I love you all, even my many enemies (sometimes!)," and in 2013, he wrote, “Happy Thanksgiving to all – even the haters and losers!”

The following year, he took aim at then-president Barack Obama, claiming that former president Jimmy Carter’s family was “having a good Thanksgiving as Obama officially becomes the worst President in history.”

Other holidays have also been occasions for Trump’s provocative greetings.

During last Christmas in 2023, he posted on Truth Social, “Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith.”

Smith, the prosecutor handling Trump’s federal cases related to classified documents and election interference, was also a target of Trump’s criticism.

The 78-year-old politician’s Christmas post continued with a broad critique of perceived domestic and global adversaries, denouncing issues like “Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan surrender, Green New Scam... and All Electric Car Lunacy.”

“MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!” he concluded the post.

Donald Trump's winter holidays at Mar-a-Lago

True to tradition, Donald Trump is spending Thanksgiving at his Palm Beach, Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, according to Daily Mail.

The waterfront retreat has long been his preferred location for celebrating winter holidays, from Thanksgiving to New Year’s.

In a memorable New Year’s Day post from 2019, Trump wrote: “HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, INCLUDING THE HATERS AND THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA!”

"2019 WILL BE A FANTASTIC YEAR FOR THOSE NOT SUFFERING FROM TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME," he added.
