WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump had to retract a refutable falsehood on Wednesday, August 14.

Recently, the former president has incorrectly claimed that Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris used AI-generated images of rallies near Detroit to feign large crowd sizes.

On Sunday, August 11, he accused the vice president on Truth Social of being "a CHEATER," claiming she "had NOBODY waiting, and the 'crowd' looked like 10,000 people!"

Donald Trump dodges question on false crowd size claims

Trump's accusation was, predictably, entirely unfounded. The Harris campaign debunked this by sharing a post that displayed a crowd of 15,000 people at the Harris-Walz event in Michigan, a figure consistent with local news accounts.

A reporter directly confronted Trump regarding his assertion on Wednesday, immediately following his primary vote in West Palm Beach, Florida, HuffPost reported.

She asked Trump, “You said Harris’ crowd sizes were AI and that there weren’t people there. There’s all kinds of video evidence from people who were there who have proven that false. Can you tell us about why you made that claim?”

“Well, I can’t say what was there, who was there,” Trump replied.

He quickly shifted the conversation to a topic, the magnitude of the crowds at his events. “I can only tell you about ours. We have the biggest crowds ever in the history of politics.”

Internet dubs Donald Trump 'liar'

Numerous individuals on X (previously known as Twitter), found amusement in observing Trump entangled in his falsehoods.

A user wrote, "Translate: yea I lied, I know i lied. So what? I’ll continue to lie Gutter politics."

Another added, ""Well I can't say what was there, who was there" And yet, Trump specifically said that the entire thing was AI and that people weren't there. As always, when confronted with his own lies, Trump avoids the question, babbles about nothingness, and tells more lies. Trump is done."

A third commentator said, "Donald is a pathological liar."

"He did the penguin flap. Every time he does the penguin flap he's lying," one mocked.

A person remarked, "Trump compounded a compound lie. The next reporter should have asked the obvious follow-up question, but they are scared sh**less of losing access to the campaign which is a deliberate strategy on Trump's part."

Another added, "Little liar caught again."

An X user slammed Trump saying, "He literally posted that her crowd was A.I. Just straight lying."
