WASHINGTON, DC: Kamala Harris' campaign trolled former Donald Trump after the bumpy start of his live interview with Elon Musk. The vice president's team took a hilarious swipe at the GOP nominee on his Truth Social platform by "ReTruthing" one of his year-old posts.

Trump's virtual conversation on X (formerly Twitter) with the Tesla CEO on Monday, August 12, was marred with technical glitches, and it started almost 40 minutes late as many users were unable to tune in.

Musk claimed that a "massive DDOS [distributed denial of services] attack" caused the technical issues, which his staffers reportedly denied.

The Democratic nominee's team that recently joined the Truth Social platform reshared Donald Trump's post from May 24, 2023, in which he mocked his former GOP rival Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign launch.

"Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER! His whole campaign will be a disaster," wrote the former president.

The Florida governor joined an X Spaces event hosted by Musk and Craft Ventures co-founder David Sacks, drawing such a large crowd that the platform crashed multiple times in the initial minutes.

During the first 20 minutes, only snippets from the SpaceX CEO and Sacks were heard, and none from the unsuccessful White House hopeful.

The Harris campaign's subtle trolling highlighted the fact that the same happened with Trump's virtual interview with Musk, who endorsed the MAGA spearhead after the assassination attempt.

The former president at the time also posted a fake video to troll DeSantis after technical difficulties plagued his campaign announcement. The video featured the governor participating in an AI-created X Space with Adolf Hitler, George Soros, and the Devil, according to Newsweek.

Kamala Harris' campaign says Donald Trump's campaign serves 'obsessed rich guys'

Kamala Harris' campaign also issued a statement on the Donald Trump-Elon Musk interview on X (formerly Twitter).

It read, "Donald Trump's extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a glitch of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen in tonight during whatever that was on X."

"Trump's entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself—self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024," added the statement.

The Trump campaign, on the other hand, claimed that while the GOP presidential nominee was actively engaging with the public, Harris was "cowering in fear—afraid she'll be exposed for who she was: weak, failed, and dangerously liberal."

Trump's interview on X Spaces was highly anticipated because it marked his return to the platform after almost a year.

The real estate mogul was barred from X (then-Twitter) after his alleged involvement in instigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot. The event prompted the ex-president to launch the Truth Social, which became his primary social media platform.

Musk reinstated his X account in November 2022 after buying the platform.

After his two-hour unscripted interview with Trump, the Tesla CEO extended an invitation to Harris for a similar Spaces chat. He wrote, "Happy to host Kamala on an 𝕏 Spaces too."
