WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump pronounced Vice President Kamala Harris' first name as "Camilla" during his live-streamed conversation with X-CEO Elon Musk on the social media platform, on Monday, August 12.

Trump was commenting on Harris' image on the recently released cover of Time magazine when he said, "Actually, she looked very much like our great first lady Melania. She didn't look like Camilla, that’s right. But of course, she’s a beautiful woman, so we will leave it at that."

Incidentally, the GOP nominee distorted his Democratic counterpart's name in a way that made it sound similar to King Charles III's wife, Queen Consort of the United Kingdom, Camilla.

Donald Trump's previous attempts at butchering Harris' name

Trump has mispronounced Harris's first name on multiple occasions and expressly stated that he could not be bothered to learn the correct way to say it.

At the Turning Point USA Believers Summit in Florida on July 26, Trump said, "There are numerous ways of saying her name. They were explaining to me, ‘You can say Ka-ma-la. You can say Ka-maaa-la.' I said don’t worry about it. It doesn’t matter what I say. If I mispronounce it or not, I couldn't care less. Some people think I mispronounce it on purpose, but actually, I heard it said about seven different ways. There are a lot of ways."

He has since drawn flak from her supporters, including the Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who responded, "Mr Trump, I know you have so much trouble pronouncing her name. But here's the good news - after the election, you can just call her Madam President."

'Camilla Harris' becomes new conservative slogan

Trump's gaffe has resulted in 'Camilla Harris' trend online, with conservatives on X using the new moniker in their trolling of the Democratic nominee. The following examples demonstrate.

"Since it was a coronation and not a democratic election, shouldn’t we be calling her Queen Camilla Harris?" posted a user.

"Camilla Harris is a con person. A liar n thief. A traitor to this country," wrote another.

"President of ‘Election Watch’ claims that all the money being donated to 'Camilla' Harris’s campaign is coming from China and being laundered into her campaign," read the caption to another post.

However, others have hit back at Trump, with one user stating, "At least he got his wife's name right this time."

"He said she was beautiful. That’s rare from him," observed another.

"I feel like this adds new dimensions to his recent meltdowns," quipped yet another.
