SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris held a very successful fundraiser in her home state of California on August 11, reported Fox News. Her campaign reportedly collected more than $12 million at the event, which took place at the famed Fairmont Hotel atop Nob Hill in San Francisco.

According to the publication, Harris was born in nearby Oakland, California, and spent the first 12 years of her childhood in the Bay Area. She served as a prosecutor in Alameda County, followed by San Francisco, where she became the district attorney in 2002. Harris was elected the Attorney General for California in 2010 before she went on to represent the state at the Senate in 2017.

Harris and the Democrats have enjoyed a surge in fundraising after the former replaced incumbent Joe Biden at the top of the party ticket on July 21. Since Harris announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate on August 6, donations have reportedly seen another spike.

"The energy is undeniable," Harris told the audience at the Sunday event. "The crowds are large. But even better is the fact that, like last night in Las Vegas, attendees are signing up for volunteer shifts by the thousands."

However, she was mindful not to get carried by the excitement and acknowledged former President and GOP nominee Donald Trump as a strong rival.

"We have a lot of work to do," shared Harris, emphasizing, "We can take nothing for granted in this critical moment."

Harris was introduced at the fundraiser by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, who shared, "This is a good day, when we welcome Kamala Harris home to California. She makes us all so proud. She brings us so much joy. She gives us so much hope."

California Governor Gavin Newsom, a longtime friend of Harris and one of the potential candidates to have replaced Joe Biden in the presidential race, was also present at the event, whose tickets reportedly ranged from $3,300 to $500,000.

MAGA supporters mock Kamala Harris' 12M fundraiser

Conservatives on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) slammed Harris while reacting to the news, claiming that the successful fundraiser cannot guarantee her victory in the upcoming election. The following tweets demonstrate their prevalent takes.

"No amount of money will ever get her elected," wrote a user.

"You’ve gotta wonder why Silicon Valley billionaires are throwing money at the totally incompetent Kamala?" inquired another.

"Theft is what she does," jibed a third.

"Dang! I’m amazed Pelosi gave up so much of her insider trading money!" quipped a fourth user.

"All her tainted money in the world won't stop Trump from making America great again, period," stated a fifth.

"What a waste of money! All these millions could have been towards a better cause!" exclaimed yet another.
