GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Vice President Kamala Harris was interrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters while speaking at her campaign rally at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona on the evening of Friday, August 9.

According to Fox News, the Democratic nominee was about to discuss her running mate, Minnesota Gov Tim Walz, when the protesters broke into chants. The rally had attracted over 15,000 people, many of whom attempted to counter the protest slogans by chanting, "USA! USA!"

However, as the din refused to die down, Harris decided to address the issue herself.

"Here’s the thing. We are all in here together," the vice president said from her rally stage. "I’m told an extraordinary number of folks who are here together because we love our country. We’re here to fight for our democracy, which includes respecting the voices that I think we are hearing from."

"And let me just say this on the topic of what I think I'm hearing over there. Let me just speak to that for a moment, and then I'm going to get back to the business at hand," she continued.

"So, let me say, I have been clear. Now is the time to get a cease-fire deal and get the hostage deal done. Now is the time. And the president and I are working around the clock every day to get that ceasefire deal done and bring the hostages home. So, I respect your voices, but we are here to now talk about this race in 2024."



 

Harris faced a similar interruption while she was speaking at a rally in Detroit on Wednesday, reported The Hill.

"Kamala, Kamala you can’t hide, we won’t vote for genocide," chanted the protesters, leading her to bluntly respond, "You know what, if you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking."

Internet believes Harris rally protest to be staged

Netizens, especially MAGA supporters, on X (formerly Twitter) were divided over their take on the incident. Some felt that the protests were staged, while others mocked Harris for turning on her 'supporters.'

"That whole thing was so staged!" wrote a user.



 

"Lol just wait until their convention. The pro hamas people gonna be going wild," stated another.



 

"Democrat crowd tries to drown out Democrat protesters. Karma," jibed a third.



 

"She was reading from her notes. It was a planned routine. Staged," claimed a fourth user.



 

"She pandered to them," quipped a fifth.
