STEVENS POINT, WISCONSIN: Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff defended his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, on Saturday, July 27, criticizing former President Donald Trump for repeatedly mispronouncing her name and resorting to name-calling.

In a video clip that went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Emhoff is seen addressing a group of Harris supporters, saying, "Let me end with this. Mr Trump, I know you have so much trouble pronouncing her name. But here's the good news- after the election, you can just call her Madam President."

While the audience enthusiastically applauded Emhoff in the video, MAGA supporters took to X to criticize both the presumptive Democratic nominee and her husband in response to his remark.

Donald Trump claims he 'couldn’t care less' about properly pronouncing Kamala Harris

While delivering an address at the Turning Point USA Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida, Doandl Trump stated on Friday that there were multiple ways to pronounce his political rival's name, but he could not be bothered about them.

The clip of the moment in his speech was also uploaded on X, where he is seen calling Harris “liberal” and “radical,” before defending himself for the ways in which he flubbed saying it.

Trump said, "By the way, there are numerous ways of saying her name. They were explaining to me, ‘You can say Ka-ma-la. You can say Ka-maaa-la.' I said don’t worry about it. It doesn’t matter what I say. If I mispronounce it or not, I couldn't care less.”

"Some people think I mispronounce it on purpose, but actually I heard it said about seven different ways. There are a lot of ways," he added.

Internet mocks Doug Emhoff for his jibe

MAGA supporters on X slammed the Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff for attacking Donald Trump, as well as added to the name-calling of the Vice President. The following examples demonstrate the prevalent takes.

"I always make sure I pronounce it correctly by remembering that it is a hard C like in Communist," wrote a person. [sic]

"I will never call Kamala anything but a criminal," stated another.

"This is what desperation looks like," chided a user.

"Oh doug, come November, you’ll be calling her, unemployed," mocked another user.

"What a pretentious dude," commented a person.

"Hey Mr Kamala, you should sit this one out," advised yet another.

"Good we are now officially back high school," one observed of the name-calling.
