WASHINGTON, DC: Second gentleman Doug Emhoff emphasized the critical importance of President Joe Biden securing another term in office.

In an interview with CBS's 'Sunday Morning' on June 23, Emhoff responded to a question about the implications of a potential election loss and he underscored that the stakes of the November election extend beyond national borders.

Emhoff was asked if he ever considered the possibility of returning to a quieter life in California with Vice President Kamala Harris if they were to lose the election.

“We’re going to win this election. We have to win this election. Literally. Our country, and our world depends on us winning this election. That’s what’s gonna happen," he responded.

Unified message from Joe Biden's administration

Emhoff's remarks reflect a consistent message from the top principals within the Biden administration.

Throughout their campaign, there has been a concerted effort to highlight the importance of their reelection, according to The Hill.

In April, Harris agreed with an interviewer who suggested that the 2024 election in November could be the last democratic election in the US.

The Vice President has also previously expressed her concerns about the possibility of former President Donald Trump returning to office, stating that the prospect is a significant motivating factor for her.

During an appearance on ABC's 'The View' in May, First Lady Jill Biden spoke about what she perceives to be at stake in the November election as she conveyed her confidence that “Americans are going to choose good over evil.”
