WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump referred to Kamala Harris as "a bum" and made light of mispronouncing her name during a speech in Florida on the night of Friday, July 26.

Many Republicans, including former president Trump, have intentionally mispronounced Vice President Kamala Harris' name, which has angered some liberals. The former president mocked the concept during an event in West Palm Beach for Turning Point.

Donald Trump criticizes Kamala Harris for not attending Benjamin Netanyahu's speech

Kamala Harris became the presumptive Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden ended his presidential bid on July 21 and endorsed the Vice President.

During his speech in Florida, Donald Trump said Kamala Harris was "worse than Joe Biden and in a true sense much more liberal" as he got started talking about her, then corrected himself.

"And by the way, there are numerous ways of saying her name, they were explaining to me, you can say Kamala, you can say Kamala, I said, don't worry about it. It doesn't matter what I say. I couldn't care less if I mispronounce it," Trump remarked.

Trump was overall critical of Harris and appeared to be surprised by the liberals' sudden support for her, considering her record.

"She was a bum 3 weeks ago, she was a bum. A failed VP, in a failed administration, with millions of people crossing and she was the Border Czar."

He also criticized her for not attending Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to Congress and accused her of disliking Jewish people.

"She refused to attend the speech. Because that's her original thought, that's where she comes from. She doesn't like Jewish people, she doesn't like Israel."

However, Harris' husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, is of Jewish faith. Additionally, Harris is stepmother to Emhoff's two children from his first marriage, who are also Jewish.

The Vice President also had a one-on-one meeting with Netanyahu recently.

Donald Trump occasionally mispronounces Kamala Harris' name

The correct pronunciation of Kamala Harris' name has been a topic of high-profile discussion since she was designated as Joe Biden's vice presidential candidate in 2020.

Trump occasionally pronounces "Ka-MAH-la" instead of the proper "KA'-ma-la."

Harris, of Indian and Jamaican heritage, is the first female vice president and the third person of color to hold the office of president or vice president, after Obama and Charles Curtis, who was Herbert Hoover's vice president and had Native American ancestry.

The discussion regarding the mispronunciation of Harris' name has been thoroughly recorded, with The Washington Post publishing an article detailing the numerous individuals who mispronounced it during the recent RNC, according to Daily Mail.

Kamala Harris shares video to educate people on correct pronunciation of her name

Donald Trump has stumbled over Kamala Harris' name or exaggerated its pronunciation in what appeared to be a mocking manner.

Critics suggest that the mispronunciation is an intentional strategy to highlight Harris' background as a woman of Black and Indian descent.

Harris addressed the situation herself by releasing a 2016 video that used children to educate the public.

"People pronounce my name many different ways. Let #KidsForKamala show you how it's done," she said.

In her 2019 memoir, Harris wrote, "[M]y name is pronounced 'comma-la,' like the punctuation mark. It means 'lotus flower,' which is a symbol of significance in Indian culture."

However, Biden also has had his moments of struggle, such as mispronouncing his Vice President's name during a 2019 speech in which he acknowledged the Golden State Warriors for their NBA Championship victory.

The third commentator wrote, "I think Trump is worried. He won't debate her and he's had to resort to childish name calling (not for the first time)."

"So disrespectful," One claimed.

A person said, "People are gettng fed up with Trump's childish schoolboy rhetoric. This clown is unfit to be President."
