PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump has expressed his opposition to invoking the 25th Amendment against President Joe Biden.

Per the New York Post, the 78-year-old ex-POTUS cautioned that it would be more "dangerous" to have Vice President Kamala Harris take office, describing her as "real garbage" and "worse than he is."

The MAGA strongman criticized the vice president during an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends’ on Thursday morning and stated his belief that the 25th Amendment should not be invoked given that Biden's term in office is expected to be short-lived.

The 25th Amendment (Amendment XXV) to the United States Constitution addresses issues related to presidential succession and disability.

It specifies that the vice president assumes the presidency if the president passes away, resigns, or is removed from office through impeachment. It also outlines the process for filling a vacancy in the position of the vice president.

Furthermore, the amendment allows for the temporary transfer of the president's powers and responsibilities to the vice president, either at the president's discretion or upon the joint initiative of the vice president and a majority of the president's cabinet.

In either scenario, the vice president takes on the role of acting president until the president's powers and responsibilities are reinstated.

What did Donald Trump say about invoking 25th Amendment?

“I don’t think they should use the 25th Amendment. Not long to go, you know, we have four months now and then he’s got another month and a half,” the 2024 Republican presidential candidate said before attacking VP Harris.

“I will say this, the world is in a very dangerous place. I think if [Biden] goes, [Kamala] then takes over and she’s worse than he is. I believe she’s a San Francisco radical. I believe she’s actually much worse and a way worse candidate than he is and she’s not doing very well,” Trump claimed.

When questioned about the possibility of America's survival if Kamala Harris were elected president, Trump promptly replied "No" and criticized Harris for being "the most radical person we've probably had in office."

Former President Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Biden and Harris' debate performance during the 2020 primary, noting, "I thought he was terrible but she was terrible. She was horrible."

The ex-Commander-in-Chief then pondered how Joe Biden could have chosen Kamala Harris as his running mate after he won the 2020 Democratic primaries, claiming that she was the "meanest" person running and treated Biden poorly.

“She was the meanest person up there. She was meaner to [Biden] than anybody else. She accused him of being racist with the buses,” Trump added. “Not a very good debater and nasty, just nasty to him. And when he chose her I said ‘How do you do that?’ A person treats you so badly — he was treated so badly during the debates.”

Trump also addressed Harris' claim in a recent campaign speech that he was a "predator," saying, "I think it’s disgusting,” and adding, “I get a kick out of one thing. They say, ‘Sir, be nice. You just got hit with a bullet. Maybe he’s changed. Be nice,’ and I’d love to be nice, but I’m dealing against real garbage when you hear that.”

Trump's remarks surfaced shortly after he and his running mate, JD Vance, accused the Democratic Party of attempting a 'coup' against President Joe Biden, with the Ohio senator arguing that if Biden is unfit to run for president, he shouldn't be able to serve the remainder of his term.

“If they want to take him down because he’s mentally incapable of serving, invoke the 25th Amendment. You don’t get to sort of do this in the most politically beneficial way for Democrats,” Vance asserted to ‘Primetime’ host Jesse Watters in a segment that aired on Monday. “If it’s an actual problem, they should take care of it the appropriate way.”

The interview, which aired on Monday, was recorded on Saturday before reports emerged on Sunday that President Biden was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race and backing Vice President Kamala Harris as the presumptive new Democratic nominee.

Another user quipped, "He just doesn't want to rebrand all of his merchs into "48"."

Another user argued, "Well shouldn’t we just do it for a test run? The risk is she wins and we have her for 4 years."

One X user said, "A dangerous person is the one who plays the only good guy."

Another user claimed, "He is so afraid of women. His mother must have beaten him a lot."

Finally, this user tweeted, "Trump doesn't wanna run against her as an incumbent...it gives her an advantage."
