WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump and his vice presidential candidate JD Vance sat down with an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Sunday, July 21, following incumbent Joe Biden's announcement of suspending his reelection campaign.

In a public letter shared over the social media platform X on Sunday, Biden wrote, "It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president. And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term."

Since the disastrous debate performance back in June, voices were growing across the aisle expressing concern over Biden's mental acuity to keep the top job for four more years.

With Biden finally paying heed, Trump and Vance doubled down on their accusation of Democrats hiding Biden's health issues, with the latter even urging the incumbent to resign from the presidency ahead of the general election.

In a preview of the interview shared by Watters on X, the host is seen asking Trump if he would "investigate the people that hid Joe Biden's condition."

"I think somebody has to look at it," replied the former president. "Look, you had people that lied to the American public. And I'll tell you what, you ought to take a look at his doctors because his doctors kept giving him this wonderful report."

"I'm not a doctor, but I saw him the other day... was unable to get up the children's stairs going into Air Force One," he noted.

"Is it a coup against Joe Biden?" Watters goes on to ask.

Trump says that it "sort of" seems that way, before Vance jumps in with, "I think it is."

"I mean look, there is a constitutional process, the 25th Amendment. If Joe Biden can't run for president, he can't serve as president. And if they want to take him down because he is mentally incapable of serving, invoke the 25th Amendment," continued Vance.

"You don't get to sort of do this in the most politically beneficial way for the Democrats. If it is an actual problem, they should take care of it in the appropriate way."

Donald Trump's take on his new challenge

With Joe Biden out of the race, GOP nominee Trump is set to face a yet undecided rival in November.

"So (Democrats) might cook up something at the convention. They might throw Gretchen Whitmer at you. They might throw Gavin Newsom at you. They might throw Michelle Obama at you," Watters is seen mentioning in another preview clip of the interview.

"Yeah, I wouldn't be worried about any of them," responded the GOP nominee. "Look, they have bad policies. Forget about the people. They have an open border policy and they have a high tax policy. They have a bad military policy. The whole world is going woke, their world is going woke. The Green New (Deal) Scam, we're spending money on things that don't work. The whole thing is a mess."

"If we don't win this election, we never have another election. I'm telling you, this may be our last election," he added.

Since dropping out of the race, Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the top Democratic ticket, in a post over X.

The Trump-Vance interview will air on Fox News at 8 pm ET.
