WASHINGTON, DC: Taylor Swift's vociferous fan base expressed outrage at JD Vance for suggesting the Republican vice presidential contender should cool down following the resurfacing of a video showing him criticizing childless women who own cats.

Notably, the resurfaced interview of Vance on Fox News' 'Tucker Carlson Tonight' is from 2021. When Vance made the TV appearance, he was a candidate for the Ohio Senate seat, which he ultimately won.

During the interview, JD Vance criticized Kamala Harris and other democratic women and said the US was being run by 'a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.'

He told Carlson, "It's just a basic fact — you look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC — the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we've turned our country over to people who don't really have a direct stake in it?"

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump named Vance as his running mate on July 15.
