Internet divided as Kamala Harris launches 'We Choose Freedom' ad campaign targeting Donald Trump
WASHINGTON, DC: Vice President Kamala Harris released her first campaign video on Thursday, July 25, announcing her run for president.
The release comes days after President Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy from the 2024 presidential race and endorsed Harris as his replacement in the campaign.
Kamala Harris uses Beyonce's 'Freedom' as her campaign song
The first campaign video of Harris, who has gained enough support from Democrats to become the presumptive nominee, is titled 'We Choose Freedom.'
The video features Beyonce's song 'Freedom' which Harris has also adopted as her walkout song at campaign events.
Although Beyonce has not formally endorsed Harris as of now, a source confirmed that the singer's team granted the campaign permission campaign to use her song, according to Daily Mail.

Key takeaways from Kamala Harris' first campaign video
In the video outlining Kamala Harris' campaign priorities, the vice president presents her vision for the country and positions herself as the Democratic presidential candidate.
The campaign advertisement is notable for its omission of any mentions of Biden or images of the two together
Focussing on a broader message, Harris said, "In this election, we each face a question,' Harris says in the video. 'What kind of country do we want to live in?"
"There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos, of fear, of hate, but us, we choose something different. We choose freedom," she continued.
The video begins with scenes of an American flag and Harris' enthusiastic supporters waving 'Kamala' signs at her Milwaukee rally on Tuesday, July 23.
Kamala Harris' narrative of Donald Trump
The campaign video shifts to ominous images of former president Donald Trump and his vice presidential pick JD Vance.
Kamala Harris launched a fierce critique of Trump and later called for a future where "no one is above the law," accompanied by images of the 78-year-old politician's mugshots from his Georgia election interference case and headlines from his indictment and conviction in the New York hush money trial.
"The freedom not just to get by, but get ahead. The freedom to be safe from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about your own body," said Harris.
The 59-year-old politician also called for a future "where no child lives in poverty" and "where we all can afford health care."
The video concludes with Harris' rallying cry, which she has been passionately delivering on the campaign trail.
Internet doubles down on Kamala Harris for targeting Donald Trump
As Kamala Harris' first campaign ad targets Donald Trump and his legal troubles, netizens rallied to express their support and disagreement with the content of the vice president's campaign video.
"Another ad with ZERO policy proposals other than “Trump bad”. This is the worst campaign in history," one user on X (formerly Twitter) while another user tweeted, "Here to witness history being made."
