Marjorie Taylor Greene slams Trump over Iran strikes: 'It’s always America Last'

WASHINGTON, DC: Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene on Saturday, February 28, criticized President Trump for the Iran strikes, calling it a violation of the "America First" promise. 

Greene argued that the president is choosing to engage in a foreign conflict instead of focusing on the severe financial problems faced by the American people.



Marjorie Taylor Greene questions economic priorities during conflict

Greene used sarcasm to call out Trump for his wealth while his supporters suffer through economic hardships. 

“Great Mr President. Good job,” she wrote on X. “You’re a billionaire and the American people, not the Iranian people, who voted for you are not billionaires.”

She pointed out that many Americans are struggling with high debt and cannot afford basic needs like insurance or housing. 

She added that while older generations were able to succeed on one income, “Your generation, the baby boomers, your families were able to thrive on single incomes and now that’s practically impossible for the vast majority of American families. Let alone, imagine being a single mother.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene argues against abandoning 'America First'

Greene suggested that there is a deep divide between how older people view these strikes and how younger generations feel about them. 

She wrote, “But us younger generations, Gen X (mine), Millennials, and especially Gen Z hate this.” 

She warned that when the current older leaders are gone, younger people will be left with no social security, massive debt, and a devalued dollar.  She expressed her frustration with the current path of the administration by stating, “We, as in YOU and me, campaigned on America First. And this is NOT it.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene calls Iran strikes a betrayal of campaign promises

Earlier, Marjorie Taylor Greene, in another post on X, reminded the president that they both campaigned on staying out of foreign wars and avoiding efforts to change governments in other countries. 

She stated that her generation has been hurt enough by past wars and argued that the people of Iran should handle their own issues. 



She also doubted the official reasons for the strike, specifically the concerns about Iran's nuclear program. 

She concluded that this decision felt like a major betrayal, saying, “It’s always a lie and it’s always America Last.” She added that it is especially painful because it came from a leader they once believed would be different.
