WASHINGTON, DC: US officials are calling Operation Epic Fury the "largest regional concentration of American military firepower in a generation." This highlights the scale and intensity of the joint US-Israeli campaign aimed at Iran’s military infrastructure.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) reports that the operation combined air, naval, and missile defense resources in a coordinated strike.

Operation Epic Fury deploys massive US air, naval power

CENTCOM officials said Operation Epic Fury included a rare and extensive deployment of American military assets in the region.

The campaign brought together carrier strike groups, long-range bombers, fighter aircraft, guided missile destroyers, and missile defense systems in what officials described as a well-coordinated assault.

Operation Epic Fury represented the “largest regional concentration of American military firepower in a generation,” according to a statement released on social media by US Central Command. “US and partner forces began striking targets at 1:15 am ET to dismantle the Iranian regime’s security apparatus, prioritizing locations that posed an imminent threat. Targets included Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps command and control facilities, Iranian air defense capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields,” CENTCOM said.

Central Command said its forces “successfully defended against hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks,” with zero American casualties or combat-related injuries reported during the opening series of attacks on Saturday.

CENTCOM says Iran strikes caused minimal damage

US military installations in the region suffered only “minimal” damage as a result of Iranian strikes, and operations were not impacted, CENTCOM said.

“Operation Epic Fury involves the largest regional concentration of American military firepower in a generation,” US Central Command said, adding that the “first hours of the operation included precision munitions launched from air, land, and sea.” CENTCOM also confirmed earlier reports that the US deployed “low-cost one-way attack drones” for the first time in a combat operation as part of its “Task Force Scorpion Strike” on Saturday.

The display of military strength was also intended as a deterrent.

Officials said that assembling the largest concentration of US firepower in decades sent a clear message to Iran and other adversaries that threats against American interests will be met with overwhelming force.
