WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News host Jesse Watters stirred controversy on Tuesday night, July 23, by alleging that Vice President Kamala Harris’s position in the White House was the result of a deal between President Joe Biden and Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders.

On 'Jesse Watters Primetime' the host suggested that Harris's role was secured through a "DEI deal"—referring to diversity, equity, and inclusion agreements—designed to solidify Biden's nomination.

"The only reason she is in the White House is because of the DEI deal Biden cut with Bernie to seal the nomination," Watters claimed. "The only ones really pumped about Harris is the machine."

Jesse Watters questions Kamala Harris’s ability to build Obama-like coalition

He also criticized Harris’s performance among Black voters, questioning her ability to build a coalition similar to that of Barack Obama.

"How can Kamala Harris cobble together the Obama coalition if she can't even crack 5 percent with Black voters?" he asked, pointing out that other Democratic candidates in the 2020 primary performed better among Black voters than Harris. "Biden, Bernie, Liz Warren, Cory Booker — all did better with Blacks than Kamala Harris. And suddenly she's the next messiah?"

Internet users react to Jesse Watters’ bizarre claims

Watters’s remarks have been met with significant backlash, with critics accusing him of peddling unfounded conspiracy theories and undermining Harris's legitimacy as vice president.

A social media user tweeted, "Vice Presidents are not hired."

A second said, "They’re not even hiding the racism anymore are they."

A third said, "That’s all we’re going to hear until November."

"I’m tired of this DEI narrative as if a lot of these mediocre people like Watters didn’t get to where they are not because of merit but because they knew somebody or just simply being . Anybody using DEI as a pejorative is a racist and should be treated as such," read a tweet.

"How can anybody have any respect for this so called news reporter who keeps using this DE I as a way of making a divide it's so untrue it's so nasty and in our time racial comments like this should never be allowed. Another man telling a woman what she is, how pathetic," penned an individual.

"Vice Presidents aren't hired though. Her and Biden won over 80 million votes to get to the Whitehouse. I find this a pointless talking point people use as an excuse to be racist," added another.
