WASHINGTON, DC: Former US Attorney General Andy McCarthy called for 25th Amendment hearings on President Joe Biden when asked about the concerning behavior pattern displayed by the President.

On the July 1 episode of the Fox News show 'Outnumbered', McCarthy talked about Biden's abysmal performance in the first presidential debate against presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, which shocked the Democrats with many even calling on him to quit the 2024 race.

Andy McCarthy invokes 25th Amendment after Biden's debate disaster

"I think it’s time to have 25th Amendment hearings," McCarthy stated on Monday. "I don’t really care that much about the campaign when it comes to this issue…I started to prosecute jihadists back in the 1990s. The ‘threat’ environment we are in today is reminiscent of right before 9/11, except right before 9/11 we didn’t have war raging in Europe and the Middle East, where Israel is looking at a 2-front war now."

"It is crazy to have someone who is non compos mentis president," he added, questioning Biden's mental acuity to carry out the functions of the top office.

A similar concern was heard from House Speaker Mike Johnson, who stated on the day after the presidential debate, "There’s a lot of people asking about the 25th Amendment, invoking the 25th Amendment right now, because this is an alarming situation. Our adversaries see the weakness in this White House as we all do. I take no pleasure in saying that. I think this is a very dangerous situation."

House GOP member introduces legislation to replace Joe Biden

Rep Chip Roy (R-Texas) introduced legislation invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment on the last week of June.

According to Fox News, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment authorizes the vice president and a majority of the executive Cabinet to decide on whether the president is fit to continue in office. If the incumbent is declared unfit by the VP and a majority of the president's Cabinet or Congress, the latter can assume the presidency.

The Congressman called upon Vice President Kamala Harris to "convene and mobilize the principal officers of the executive departments of the Cabinet to activate section 4 of the 25th Amendment to declare President Joseph R Biden incapable of executing the duties of his office and to immediately exercise powers as Acting President."

The resolution further claims that President Biden "has repeatedly and publicly demonstrated his inability to discharge the powers and duties of the Presidency, including, among others, the powers and duties of the Commander-in-Chief."

Internet says Joe Biden will be gone anyway

Social media users felt Republicans would do well and not to try and replace President Biden immediately.

"Nooooo, not until AFTER the election! The 25th, if it passes, will allow the DNC to replace with anyone and that person will then be on all 50 state’s ballots!" exclaimed a user.

"NO NO let him run err walk err stumble but don't stop him mo mo," quipped another.

"Let him stay for a few more months, he’ll be gone soon anyway," expressed a third.

"Little time remain for him," echoed a fourth user.

"Negative. Let the entire party fail for their big lie about Biden’s competence," stated a fifth.
