Marla Maples opens up on raising Tiffany Trump away from spotlight

After divorcing Donald Trump in 1999, Marla Maples raised Tiffany Trump primarily in California, choosing to keep her away from the spotlight.

In a 2023 interview with People, Maples opened up about the experience of being a single parent.

“Her daddy is a good provider with education and such, but as far as time, it was just me,” Maples said, adding “Her father wasn’t able to be there with day-to-day skills as a parent. He loves his kids. There’s no doubt. But everything was a bit of a negotiation.”

Trump had reportedly called El Salvador, Haiti, and unspecified nations in Africa “s ***thole countries.” Back in 2018, she said about a meeting on immigration, “Why are we having all these people from s S****hole countries come here?” according to People.

Nigeria was outraged and responded by saying that the comment was “deeply hurtful, offensive and unacceptable” if true, and demanded clarification from US officials.
