NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Tuesday, ex-President Donald Trump urged the dismissal of the 2020 election case against him in Georgia, citing allegations of ethics violations against prosecutor Fani Willis.

Court documents in the Trump case revealed a co-defendant's claim that Willis was involved in an "improper" romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom she had appointed.

Reportedly, Willis and Wade purportedly gained financial benefits from their relationship, which included vacations funded by the fees Wade's law firm received for their involvement in the case.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his opinion.

However, many people on the internet took a brutal jab at Trump and slammed him after he blasted Willis.

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “TRUMP UNLOADS! Georgia DA Fani Willis Compromised, 'The Case Has to Be Dropped!' TRUMP: 'It’s illegal. What she did is illegal. So, we’ll let the state handle that, but what a sad situation it is.'"

Hannity’s tweet presented an article from his official website which reported that Georgia DA Fani Willis has faced some serious ethics violations as she hired her romantic partner, Nathan Wade to prosecute Donald Trump, paying him more than $600,000.

Following this, Trump told the reporters in Washington, DC, after a hearing in a separate federal 2020 election interference case, “You had a very big event yesterday as you saw in Georgia where the district attorney is totally compromised. The case has to be dropped.”

He continued, “They went after 18 or 20 people. … She was out of her mind. Now it turns out that the case is compromised. It’s illegal. What she did is illegal. So we’ll let the state handle that, but what a sad situation it is.”

A motion submitted on behalf of Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the case and former Trump campaign official, claims that "sources close to both the special prosecutor and the district attorney" affirm "they had an ongoing, personal relationship."

Additionally, the filing requests the removal of both Fani Willis and Nathan Wade from the case.

This came after Willis charged Trump as part of her investigation into his purported attempts to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia in August.

Trump faced charges including one count of violating the Georgia RICO Act, three counts of criminal solicitation, six counts of criminal conspiracy, one count of filing false documents, and two counts of making false statements.

Trump pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Besides the Georgia case, the former president and 2024 frontrunner also confronted legal challenges in separate cases in New York City, Florida, and Washington DC.

Internet calls out Donald Trump after his jab at Fani Willis

Many X users blasted Donald Trump after he slammed Fani Willis.

One person wrote, “If he knows so much about the law, why did he break so many laws himself?” and another said, “Trump is going to jail!!!”

An X user simply called out Trump, “He’s always unloading. This is not news. He’s scared,” and another wrote, “The sounds of a desperate man. As he continues to lose in court he is heading for a meltdown.”

One more person mocked ex-POTUS, saying, “He's wrong...as usual,” and another added, “Trump is so fucked, no matter what you say to keep the idiots angry and in fear.”
