PHOENIX, ARIZONA: President-elect Donald Trump paused in the middle of his speech while addressing MAGA followers on the final day of AmericaFest 2024, held at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona, from December 19 to 22.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the 78-year-old is seen stopping mid-sentence and claiming that it was because of a strange sound he heard.

Donald Trump was raging against undocumented immigrants when he claimed to hear a sound that made him momentarily drop the subject, as per RawStory

"We had an open border," said the incoming president, as he went on to describe the immigrants. "They're gang members, they're drug dealers, they're drug addicts, people that were sick, people that were healthy and str..."

He suddenly stopped speaking, turned, looked up, and asked, "What the hell was that?"

"You get the little yips up here every once in a while," Trump told the crowd. "I wonder why it was a strange sound. I've heard some very strange sounds."

He continued his rant after the interruption, saying, "Every foreign gang member will be expelled, and I will immediately designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. We're going to do it immediately."

Internet mocks Donald Trump for getting easily distracted

Netizens mocked Donald Trump for stopping midway through his speech and many refused to believe his claim that he had heard an unusual sound. 

A person quipped, "When he speaks. It's always a strange sound," and another joked, "The drones moving in on him." 

"That’s the sound of Elon breathing down Donny’s neck," an individual mocked. "Good grief...four more years of this nonsense," someone else snarked. 

"He’s so easily distracted! I’ve never seen a grown man incapable of staying focused! He’s like a toddler!" chided another person.
