WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump's campaign asserted that the Kamala Harris and Tim Walz ticket's "weird" criticisms are nothing more than a "smokescreen," and people are more concerned with the state of the economy than they are with playground taunts.

Harris’ VP pick Minnesota Gov Tim Walz started the “weird” offensive against Sen JD Vance (R-Ohio) before he was selected as the Democrat No 2. More party members have insulted him since the GOP vice presidential nominee was selected.

Tim Walz said he can't wait to debate JD Vance

The abuse intensified to the point where Tim Walz made fun of JD Vance on his first meeting with Kamala Harris by referring to the widely shared meme that purportedly revealed the senator had written in his autobiography, 'Hillbilly Elegy', about having sex with a couch.

“I can’t wait to debate the guy,” Walz said, according to the New York Post. “That is, if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up.”

Donald Trump hasn't yet responded in full fury to Tim Walz's 'weird' attacks

Donald Trump has not yet fully retaliated against Tim Walz's "weird" attacks, but during a meeting on Thursday, August 8, in West Palm Beach, a campaign official informed reporters that they believe voters will be more concerned about inflation.

“Let’s going to why they’re doing the weird. They’re doing the weird because inflation is out of control,” the Trump official told the outlet. “When you go to the store and see how expensive things are, you’re not like ‘Oh, I heard some Democrat … post a meme saying something about weird,’ you’re saying, ‘I’m pissed off.”

Donald Trump's campaign slams Tim Walz and Kamala Harris for being 'weird' themselves

Donald Trump's official went on to criticize Tim Walz and Kamala Harris for also being "weird."

“With Walz’s background, for example, very weird is having feminine products in elementary school boys bathrooms,” the official said, referring to the governor supporting putting tampons in both girls’ and boy’s bathrooms.

“There’s so much weirdness with just their obsession with tearing down so much of the cultural norms. It’s just, it’s a smoke screen. They’re trying to, they said they’re trying to ‘David Copperfield’ their way out of some really, really terrible policies,” the official added.

“Have you seen Kamala speak? That’s weird. That’s, that’s not presidential,” the Trump official went on.

“When you’re talking about who’s at the top of the ticket, voters want to know that they have a strong president [who] can bring a change. They don’t,” the official continued. “And a couple of memes? I mean, Kamala herself. The laugh is weird. It just is. And so, so I think that’s, that’s just a smoke screen.”

Donald Trump's campaign gains support after slamming Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

Netizens backed the former president and his running mate while Kamal Harris and Tim Walz continued to mock them instead of facing the media.

One X user tweeted, "Democrats are tyrants. Wake Up. TRUMP/VANCE 2024." Another added, "Queen Harris we pay you speak or we will make our own assumptions and there not good ones."

"They’re correct. Harris-Walz have ZERO policies. Everything they do is a facade," remarked one, while someone else wrote, "New buzzword they’re trying to mind control the democratic sheep: 'joy'. Kamala brings joy, democrats are feeling joy, Walz exudes joy."
