Donald Trump's ex-attorney William Brennan blasts Stormy Daniels' post-trial 'taunting' tweet
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: William Brennan, a former attorney for Donald Trump, has taken issue with Stormy Daniels’ social media activity following her testimony.
Brennan argues that her actions are the 'grounds for a mistrial' and that he will take it with the jurors.
William Brennan says Stormy Daniels has taunted Donald Trump
Stormy Daniels, a key figure in the former president's hush money trial, who was allegedly paid $130,000 to keep quiet about her sexual encounter with him in 2006 made a bombshell testimony which ended Thursday, May 9.
Following her testimony she made a sarcastic post on X writing, "Real men respond to testimony by being sworn in and taking the stand in court," adding, "Oh...wait. Nevermind."

"Now she's off the stand and she's on social media taunting the defendant!" Brennan said, adding, "There's another ground for a mistrial!"
William Brennan calls for jury poll following Stormy Daniels tweet
In response to Daniels’ tweet, Brennan stated he would request the judge to poll the jurors. He aims to determine whether they had seen the tweet and if it had influenced their perspective on the case.
Daniels' tweets "will play in the hands of the defense," Brennan told the station and the poll will be to ask them "if they had seen the tweet and whether it affected them," Brennan said.
"I mean every defendant in our country who is charged with a crime has the right not to testify, and the judge will charge the jury at some point if a defendant doesn't testify, no adverse inference can be drawn," Brennan said.
"She's on social media saying real men get on the stand and testify," he added as per Raw Story.
Brennan highlighted that while jurors are not supposed to engage with social media during a trial, it is often the case that they do. "Jurors aren't supposed to look at social media, but they do," Brennan claimed as per CNN.
Judge Juan Merchan upheld gag order after Donald Trump requested a response to Stormy Daniels
The defense argued, "There are voters out there and there are questioners who will ask him questions about it and he can’t say anything."
However, Judge Merchan denied this request, noting, "My concern is with protecting the integrity of these proceedings as a whole."
"The nature, the vitriol … your client’s track record speaks for itself here. I can’t take your word for it that he says I’m just going to speak the facts," Merchan said.
He expressed concern that altering the gag order could potentially influence other witnesses, including Michael Cohen.
"It's a disgrace!" Brennan reportedly shouted. "This witness is out there on social media sticking a finger in a defendant's eye. And it's a ground for a mistrial," he reiterated on the live TV.
