NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Sunday, the leading Republican negotiator James Lankford stated on a possible border and immigration deal, which has the potential to release tens of billions in aid for Ukraine, indicating that lawmakers might unveil the text of the agreement later this week.

This came after House Speaker Mike Johnson and many other House Republicans visited the southern border in Texas to bring attention to record migrant crossings and criticized the Biden admin’s immigration policy.

Following this news, Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and took a brutal jab at Lankford.

Apparently, several people on the internet agreed to the host as they also slammed the senator.

Laura Ingraham claims James Lankford is about to ‘sell us out on the border’

Fox News host Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “Lankford is about to sell us out on the border.”

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article from Politico titled, “Top GOP negotiator: Border deal may land this week.”

In the article, it was reported that James Lankford revealed on Sunday that a deal might come into play as soon as this week which could “unlock tens of billions in aid for Ukraine.”

Lankford's positive comments signal a potential breakthrough in his discussions with Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Chris Murphy after intensive talks in Washington last week and months of behind-the-scenes negotiations.

The trio, along with the Biden administration, is narrowing down an agreement that could set a higher standard for asylum claims and potentially grant additional expulsion and enforcement powers to the administration.

The proposed deal also includes substantial resources for border adjudication and staffing.

Lankford told Fox News on Sunday, “Text hopefully this week, to be able to get that out. Everybody will have time to be able to read and go through it. No one’s going to be jammed in this process. This agreement has to work. Everyone’s counting on this actually working.”

Internet says ‘dump Lankford’

Many X users took a brutal jab at James Lankford following his statement on the border crisis deal.

One person wrote, “This guy is the biggest squish he is afraid of McConnell and the voters should have primaried him last time The guy needs to be removed as should others,” and another said, “One thing we can count on for sure.....anything they do WILL NOT be in the best interest of the AMERICAN people.”

An X user simply slammed Lankford by stating, “Don’t trust him…….always standing behind McConnell,” and another wrote a similar reaction, “Lankford doesn't even LOOK honest.”

One more said, “Dump Lankford!” and another called him out by saying “This guy terrifies me.”
