WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump, in a series of Truth Social posts on Monday, July 27, urged Majority Leader John Thune not to let the US Senate recess "until it passes The Save America Act.”

Subsequently, he also demanded the GOP get rid of the filibuster, arguing that the party that terminates the filibuster will survive, adding that the Democratic Party will do it anyway.

Trump asks GOP to terminate filibuster to survive and thrive

As Trump’s aspirational SAVE Act is persistently hitting roadblock after roadblock, the president is now resorting to the idea of terminating the filibuster.

In two of his Truth Social posts on Monday, Trump put forth an idea of getting rid of the filibuster in order to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act in the Senate. Trump said that once the filibuster is terminated, the GOP would be able to pass “everything they ever dreamed of,” including the SAVE America Act, Budget, and debt ceiling act.

“Terminate the filibuster, where Republicans can then quickly pass everything they ever dreamed of, including a full and deep throated SAVE AMERICA ACT, the Budget, and the ever looming Debt Ceiling disaster, 1929.”

In the same Truth Social post, Trump predicted that the Democratic Party would one day terminate the filibuster, and they have got lucky with Senate leadership, apparently, GOP Senate leader John Thune.

"The Dumocrats will do it on day one, and can’t believe how lucky they got with this Senate leadership. Remember, stupidity always brings LOSING & DEATH.”

Party that terminates filibuster will thrive and survive

In another Truth Social post, President Trump argued that the party which gets successful in terminating the filibuster would thrive and survive. And if Democrats are able to remove the filibuster, America would become the third nation, as only the Dem Party will rule after that.

“Whichever Party Terminates the Filibuster FIRST will be the Party that survives and thrives. If the Dumocrats win this race, however, America will rapidly become nothing more than a Third World Nation,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump asks John Thune to suspend recess

President Trump, who has been persistently pressuring John Thune to clear the SAVE Act in the Senate, has once again demanded that John Thune not allow the Senate to go on recess before the SAVE Act is passed.

“John Thune should NOT let the US Senate recess "until it passes The Save America Act or, far better still, terminates the filibuster,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday.

Trump had earlier asked the GOP to package aspects of the SAVE Act in a budget resolution and get that cleared by the Senate.
