LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin revealed they are expecting a baby girl during the debut episode of Sprouse's new podcast 'Wildmen,' published on Tuesday, July 14, sharing the gender of their first child.

The announcement comes months after the pair confirmed in May that they are expecting their first baby, nearly three years after tying the knot in a deeply personal ceremony held in the bride's home country of Hungary in July 2023.

Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin share baby's gender and talk parenthood

The baby's gender was revealed during a conversation on the first episode of 'Wildmen,' when Palvin prompted her husband by asking, "Do you want to share?" Sprouse responded by revealing that they have already been referring to their unborn daughter as "principessa."

"Yeah, we've been calling her principessa," he said, explaining, "Which I don't know why that's been our like... well, it's Italian for princess," and later confirming, "But no, we are having a baby girl, which I'm very excited about. I'm excited to be a girl dad, actually."

Palvin joked that having a daughter would "mellow" Sprouse out, telling him, "You're going to be so stressed about the princess." Sprouse responded by saying he was already looking forward to spending time with his future daughter, adding, "I just also unironically love a tea party."

Laughing, she followed up with, "He loves a high tea." Although they have settled on calling their baby "principessa" for now, the couple revealed they are still going "back and forth" on names and have not yet decided what they will officially call their daughter.

The couple first announced they were expecting while attending the 79th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France, in May. Palvin wore a light blue dress with cap sleeves and a feather skirt, posing with one hand beneath her baby bump, while Sprouse stood beside her in a tuxedo with his arm around her.

Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse reflect on their relationship and recent milestones

Sprouse and Palvin first met at a party in 2017 before beginning their relationship in June 2018. Later that year, she told Vogue Australia of being "very much in love," describing Sprouse as "the perfect guy" who was "very kind and gentle."

The couple confirmed their engagement in June 2023 before marrying one month later in a ceremony in Hungary. Earlier this year, the pair also opened up about how they keep their marriage strong while speaking to PEOPLE following the release of their Spring 2025 campaign and 'Dress to Express.'

Palvin explained that they make an effort to travel together whenever possible. "When I travel, he's there with me and we're not away from each other," she said, adding that she also visits Sprouse when he is working on set.

The couple follows one important rule, they do not stay apart for longer than two or three weeks. Palvin has also shared details of her recent health journey. In an Instagram post this past August, she revealed that she underwent surgery for endometriosis after years of dealing with fatigue, severe pain, heavy and irregular periods, and sleepless nights.

She explained that despite annual gynaecological checkups, she had not realized she had endometriosis because it cannot be diagnosed through general examinations. After being advised to consult an endometriosis specialist, Palvin underwent surgery, saying the procedure "helped me a lot" and that she was grateful she had it.
