WASHINGTON, DC: Senator Elizabeth Warren sharply condemned President Donald Trump following the United States’ launch of ‘Operation Epic Fury’ across Iran. Warren called the missile attack “illegal” and said the conflict was “based on lies” and executed “without any imminent threat” to the nation.

This is not the first time Warren has criticized the Trump administration’s approach to Iran. After the strikes, Iran retaliated against nearby Gulf countries and cities. Iranian state media also reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had died.

Elizabeth Warren warns Trump’s Iran strikes escalate tensions

Warren accused Trump of escalating tensions with Iran, warning his actions are making the situation far more volatile. “I just left a classified briefing on Iran, and here's what I can say: it is so much worse than you thought. You are right to be worried,” she said in a 46-second video shared on X (formerly Twitter).

She criticized the administration for lacking a clear strategy, stating, “The Trump Administration has no plan in Iran. This illegal war is based on lies, and it was launched without any imminent threat to our nation.” She added that Trump had yet to provide any clear guidance for ending the conflict.

Elizabeth Warren condemns Trump’s war decision in separate video

In a separate video, Warren challenged the legality of the strike, emphasizing it was taken without congressional approval. She questioned whether Trump was willing “to sacrifice American lives for what? For regime change? For a war that the President's own top military advisor has warned will be incredibly dangerous?"

Warren also highlighted domestic consequences, stressing that taxpayers’ money is being spent on a foreign war while Americans struggle with healthcare and living costs. “Your tax dollars are funding strikes in Iran while working families struggle to afford health care and put food on the table,” she said.

She criticized Trump for abandoning the Obama-era nuclear deal, noting, “The United States had a deal that could have prevented Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. Trump blew that deal up and got nothing in return,” underscoring the administration’s failed foreign policy approach.

Congressional oversight, Warren warned, is essential to prevent the US from entering another prolonged conflict. “Trump’s war against Iran is illegal and a betrayal of the American people. Congress cannot allow another generation to be dragged into a forever war,” she said.
