WASHINGTON, DC: Tech billionaire Elon Musk took to the social media platform X, which he owns and controls, on Monday, March 17, to complain about the dropping share value of his electronic vehicle company Tesla.

According to Raw Story, shares of the company have fallen more than 40 percent since the start of the year, resulting in Musk losing more than $100 billion of his net worth.

As of Monday, Musk is evaluated to be worth $328.5 billion, according to Forbes. During the day's trading, shares of Tesla sank by an additional 5% with protests growing at the company's dealership.

Elon Musk's complaint against facing protests

Elon Musk continues to draw some support on the internet despite widespread protests against him. Earlier on Monday, one of them with the username Insurrection Barbie lambasted the left for going after the billionaire.

"The left cannot name one thing they hate Elon Musk for. They cannot name one thing he has taken away from them. Or one thing he has done to earn their insane ire," they posted on X. "History will study this deranged cult like behavior."

Seizing the opportunity to defend himself, Musk retweeted the post, writing, "My companies make great products that people love and I’ve never physically hurt anyone. So why the hate and violence against me?"

He provides his reasoning for the situation, stating, "Because I am a deadly threat to the woke mind parasite and the humans it controls."

However, the protests against Musk are far from irrational. As the owner of the social media platform X, Musk never held back from promoting far-right opinions on controversial subjects, and conspiracy theories. He even made what appeared to be a Nazi salute on stage ahead of the inauguration of President Donald Trump.

He spent millions on the Trump campaign and was rewarded with the chair of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Meant to check 'wasteful' government spending, Musk used his newfound authority to go after the federal workforce across the board, and effectively bring departments such as USAID to a standstill.

Internet slams Elon Musk for crying about his dropping net worth

Netizens reacting to Elon Musk's post on X reminded him that the protests were the consequences of his recent actions. The following tweets demonstrate their takes.

"For someone with such a desperate need to be liked, you've made some very poor choices," wrote a user.

"We liked you because of your companies. We don’t like the fact that you call people you disagree with “traitors” and “p********s” and we don’t like how you lie about the difference between an aggressor & a victim in a foreign conflict," noted another.

"You fired two of my veteran friends. You should be in jail," slammed a third.

"Because you consider compassion woke?" quipped a fourth.

"Actions and words have consequences, even for billionaires," jibed a fifth.

"Are we supposed to feel something for you? You know compassion and empathy? Oh wait, compassion and empathy are the WOKE mind virus you want us to eliminate," chided a sixth.

Yet another went on a rant, stating, "Because you’re devastating our government to destroy our Democracy…because our Constitution doesn’t suit your beliefs. You’re a megalomaniac. You’re destroying lives, and laughing about it. You purchased this platform to create chaos…to allow the spread of lies and foreign disinformation. You promote Russian propaganda. You defend Nazis, and if given an opportunity, you’d govern like one. You’re a fascist. You’re a White supremacist. You’re the worst among us."
