NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: After Billie Eilish accused Elon Musk of hoarding resources while the world is facing a mounting humanitarian crisis, the billionaire fired back.

What began as a social media callout has now escalated to a new level, as Musk turned her criticism into a public clash between one of pop’s biggest voices and one of the world’s richest men.

After Eilish called him a “pathetic p***y b***h coward” for hoarding wealth during a global crisis, Musk replied last night to a November 13 tweet recapping her recent Instagram Stories, writing, “She’s not the sharpest tool in the shed.”

Eilish singled Musk out after using her acceptance speech at the WSJ Innovator Awards to call out billionaires for hoarding their wealth when “people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country.”

On her Instagram Stories, Eilish shared a set of infographics from the activist group ‘My Voice, My Choice’ highlighting different ways in which Musk could use his enormous wealth to help people.

The posts pointed out that he has not actually reached that milestone, as some reports suggest, and that Tesla would need to grow more than six times in market value to hit $8.5 trillion.

Even so, the graphic offered a practical example of how someone with a fortune as large as his could redistribute resources in meaningful and impactful ways.

The post asserted that Musk could end world hunger within five years by putting $40 billion toward the effort each year through 2030, and could provide safe, clean water universally for just $140 billion per year for seven years. Based on his response, he doesn’t seem inclined to do so.

During her appearance at the WSJ Innovator Awards, Eilish announced that she would donate $11.5 million from the 'Hit Me Hard and Soft' tour to various organizations and charities.

The speech was delivered in the presence of multiple billionaires, including Mark Zuckerberg, who has a net worth of more than $225 billion.

“There’s a few people in here who have a lot more money than me,” she said. “If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?”

Eilish added, “We’re in a time right now when the world is really, really bad and really dark. People need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country. I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people that need it.”
