LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood stars often find themselves back in the spotlight when past public moments resurface online, and Anne Hathaway recently became the latest focus of widespread social media attention.

After a speech she delivered in 2018 about equality began circulating again across digital platforms, it quickly caught the eye of tech mogul Elon Musk.

Known for his unfiltered public commentary, Musk publicly targeted the Academy Award-winning actress over her statements in the video. The online exchange quickly sparked discussion among fans, bringing more attention to both the social media debate and 'The Odyssey'

Elon Musk slams Anne Hathaway's resurfaced speech

The friction began when a clip of Hathaway’s equality speech resurfaced on social media, drawing widespread reactions from users across platforms.

SpaceX CEO Musk weighed in directly on the viral post via his platform X, openly criticizing the actress for her views and questioning the authenticity of her speech.

“She’s just reading the script someone else wrote. No critical thinking is happening here at all.” The Tesla CEO also made a personal remark about Hathaway, writing, “she has a little bird brain.”

His comments quickly sparked reactions online, with some users defending Hathaway while others agreed with Musk's criticism.

"With the exception of being a cisgender male, everything about how I was born has put me at the center of a damaging and widely accepted myth."

"The myth is that gayness orbits around straightness, transgender orbits around cisgender, and that all races orbit around whiteness."

During her speech, the 'The Odyssey' actress said, “And it is a myth that keeps money and power in the hands of a few instead of being invested in the lives of the free,” adding that she rejects this myth.

Elon Musk targets Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'

Musk's latest remarks about Hathaway are part of his broader criticism of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey'.

In recent weeks, the billionaire has repeatedly questioned the filmmaker's casting decisions, taking aim at the adaptation even before its release.

A couple of weeks ago, Musk suggested that his AI chatbot, Grok Imagine, could create a version of Homer's epic that he believes would stay truer to the original text.

On X, he wrote, “Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer.”

The post sparked fresh debate online, with many interpreting it as another swipe at Nolan's creative choices. Musk has previously voiced concerns over the film's casting, arguing that the adaptation strays from Homer's vision.
