Elon Musk says Joe Rogan's interview with Trump 'will happen' despite his 'not a Trump supporter' remark
BASTROP, TEXAS: Elon Musk has stirred excitement by claiming that Donald Trump will be interviewed on Joe Rogan’s podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience' before the upcoming November election.
Responding to a post on X by Zero Hedge, which pointed out that Rogan has “just 25 days” to interview Donald Trump before Election Day, Musk confidently replied, “It will happen.”
Growing pressure for a Donald Trump appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast
Elon Musk did not elaborate on the details of when or how this much-anticipated Joe Rogan interview with Donald Trump will take place.
His claims come amid calls for the former president to appear on Rogan’s wildly popular podcast have intensified, particularly from conservative pundits who see it as a platform that could boost Trump’s campaign as his podcast is known for drawing massive viewership.
Musk himself has been a guest multiple times and his most recent appearance, just three months ago, has already gathered 2.9 million views.
Joe Rogan’s previous hesitation on hosting Donald Trump
Despite the growing demand, Joe Rogan has previously been reluctant to have the Republican presidential nominee on his show.
In a 2022 interview with Lex Fridman, Rogan explained his decision to turn down multiple opportunities to interview Trump.
“I’m not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. I’ve had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once, I’ve said no every time," said Trump.
"I don’t want to help him," he added.
However, Rogan’s stance seems to have softened as recently he told in a podcast episode with Patrick Bet-David that he would now be open to interviewing Trump.
“At a certain point in time, it’s just like, it would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things,” said the podcaster, according to Mediaite.
Donald Trump’s comments on Joe Rogan
Although Joe Rogan has expressed his willingness to interview Donald Trump, the former president has downplayed the idea that he has been actively seeking an appearance.
In an interview with Lex Fridman, Trump denied ever asking to be on Rogan’s podcast, despite the podcaster’s earlier comments about turning him down.
In August, Trump also took a dig at Rogan in August after the UFC commentator expressed support for Robert F Kennedy Jr, though Trump dismissed any suggestion of tension between the two.
“I don’t think there was any tension. I’ve always liked him, but I don’t know him. I only see him when I walk into the arena with Dana [White] and I shake his hand,” said the former president.
“I think he’s good at what he does, but I don’t know about doing his podcast. I guess I’d do it, but I haven’t been asked and I’m not asking them. I’m not asking anybody," he added.
The SpaceX CEO has openly endorsed Trump and has been floated by the 78-year-old politician as the head of a proposed “government efficiency commission,” which Musk would lead to recommend reforms to cut down on wasteful government spending.
